So WMT had to apologize about that ice cream for some daffy reason. Apparently there was a “backlash “ on social media.

Walmart trying to profit off it I guess?
If they had promised a percentage of proceeds to Reverand Al then it would be fine

It's funny how this is an outrage, but every major company in the western world pimps out queers every year for the month of June and everyone celebrates it. Not to mention the gays still bitch about "being marginalized" even after they get catered to.

Maybe at some point these fricking companies will learn they cannot win no matter how well intentioned, and stop trying /pandering

The didn’t set up a (non) non-profit to mislead the public.
They just straight tried to make money off the holiday (nobody knew was a holiday).

Absolutely nothing.
The reason why people are pissy is because it just wasn’t created by black folks.

A link, so we know WTF you’re talking about.

It wasn’t the ice cream. It was the Juneteenth Malt liquor that pissed everyone off.

On fb at least, I learned wm carries a black owned ice cream company that is making the same thing
So many it's like "why buy it from wm when you can buy it from a black owned company"?

The on-message argument is to buy from black-owned companies instead... Racism in support of anti-racism.

According to another poster, red velvet is a “black food” now, which is news to me, but there ya go.

So, the ice cream Vermont brothers can pump the hell out of social justice desserts but Wal-Mart cannot? This is not even logical...except for the fact they are hardcore leftists.

I still don't understand how they don't have chocolate in a Juneteenth ice cream

If you make Juneteeth ice cream you're appropriating and profiteering from Black culture.
If you don't make Juneteeth ice cream you're denying Black people representation and preventing them from being included.
