Mandatory evac. That's how I roll. You're gonna take me kicking and screaming.

Baton Rouge.
A monster Cat 5. We're really too far inland to evacuate for anything less than that. And being so far inland makes the chance that it's still a Cat 5 (or really even a Cat 4) by the time it arrives almost nil.

When Andrew blew through we went to north toledo bend state park and got a cabin for a week. Was fun

All my biggest trees came down during Gustav and we seem to be on a part of the grid that gets repaired quickly. So...not going anywhere.

Live in Lakeview.
Between the dogs and all the stuff to pack it's not worth it to me to leave unless its a 2+.
Sitting in a flooded house doesn't bother me but being hauled to the Superdome and sitting with all the cultcha scares the shite out out of me!

Category 3 for me. Live in Gretna.
It would depend on the storm surge also. Katrina was classified as a CAT3 when it hit but had a CAT5 storm surge.

St. Charles Parish, probably a 2 or greater. House is on highest land in the parish (+13 ft above sea level) and power grid is same as court house and EOC. Left for Katrina but that's it. Rode out Betsy as a kid. Now it gives me a good excuse to visit my daughter out of state so I'd leave.

Lafayette, and it would take alot. But we stayed at home for Gustav, and after that, my wife said no more. It wasn't even that bad. I lived in Franklin and stayed at home through Andrew and Lili. Andrew was a bad storm. Scared the shite out of me. Lili was not fun either but not near as bad as andrew.

I'm ignorant to this but has the main problems associated with the flooding in Nola from Katrina been fixed?

The Metairie
Probably wouldn't leave for anything. It's just me and the dog. I'm outside all day anyway, so the heat doesn't bother me, nor does being without power

With the Entergy updates going on Uptown, I'm hoping the power would come back on sooner than the norm. I'd be on the fence for a low 3 for sure.

that's assuming I live in NOLA. But I don't. But if I did...3+

I'd evacuate for a cat 2... and consider it for a cat 1.
Hurrications are fun

After all the money they've spent on new pump stations I hope so.
They almost have a new pump station at every canal leading to the lake and it looks like they're beefing up the levee between West End and Canal.
I guess we'll find out during the next major storm if the city's up to snuff.
