Post your location first then answer please. Assume a fairly direct hit too.

I'm in Lakeview New Orleans and have 3 small kids. I'm leaving if it is a 2 or higher. If not for the kids I would leave at 3 or higher.

I'm in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It would have to be the largest hurricane in the history of hurricanes.

Baton Rouge - Southdowns
I don't think I would because I was scared but more because being without power for a week or more sucks

3+, it's too damn easy to go spend a grand or 2 and go have a mini vacation then have to worry about that shite.

I live close to you Chad and those same stipulations would make me leave town as well. I stayed for Katrina and being without electricity for and extended amount of time is hellacious during the summer.

Baton Rouge
might just make a trip out of it if i get a few days off work instead of sweating my nads off

It would have to be something so big that there is no where to go to get away from it.

In Prairieville.
I used to stick any storm out with my generator, now pit and plenty of whisky. Now I have a <2 year old and would consider going to the in-laws in McComb for anything over a Cat3.

Ponchy, probably 4 or 5 and I would take a nice fishing vacation somewhere.

Ascension
I'd probably consider leaving if faced with a direct hit by a category 4 hurricane. If facing a near direct hit by a 5, I'm going to Shreveport.

pretty sure you're closer to the lake, i'd be curious (not in a good way) to know what would happen to mandeville/madisonville in a direct 3/4 type storm...

Baton Rouge... at current job I'm on the disaster assessment/response team, so I'm not leaving.
If not required to stay, would probably still be hard-pressed to leave.

lived on Dauphin Island during Katrina, got the hell out of there for that.

If it was going to follow Gustav's path, my family would be the frick out of her for 2 or higher.
I would stay for a 3, but gone for a 4.

Although my flood zone is rated zone C and my subdivision didn't flood during Katrina, I wouldn't stay around to find out
