That one still blows the mind of some Americans depending on where they are.

They also can't wrap their heads around how rural some parts of the US are, not to mention the concept of being 30 minutes to 2-3 hours from police response.
I never really thought about this until driving through the south with Italian friends. Even in their "rural" areas, houses are in tiny towns where stores are walkable. Any houses that are distant are generally huge estates.
They kept saying stuff like "it's so crazy these houses just plopped out in the forest with no town!"
On the other hand, any Buccees surprise is from Europeans who don't travel by car in Europe.
There have been big gas stations with great food like Autogrill --- better than most American Italian places -- all along European freeways for ages.
I suppose they just don't travel by car often enough to see them there.

There was a mass shooting in Germany just a few days ago. It happens everywhere, not just the United States.

Don't worry, our leaders are pushing us down to euro levels.

Come on.
We have a mass shooting almost every day now.
Access to guns is different here.

Tell me you’ve never been to London without telling me you’ve never been to London.
I went to UK/London 3X/year for last 10 years for work and have been regular visitor for 25 years.
You need to spend less time in SOHO.
How Europeans (western) treat homelessness is world’s apart from US. If you are homeless, socialism is your friend (no matter the cause / effect of said homelessness).
It’s night and day - particularly Scandinavia. But of course it is, as socialistic principles are different / expensive as it is / were.

Like comparing Coquille football (assuming your TD handle will understand that) to
New Orleans Saints.
And they declared war on the whole world, twice.
Just reality. I believe owning it is better than shying away from it.

Speaking only one language. Ties right into the expanse of the United States compared to Europe. You have to travel farther from Seattle to Miami than you do from Lisbon to Moscow and yet you still only need English (barring enclaves of other languages).

Aside from that, culturally, the demand to be able to speak your mind is something that is hard for Euros to understand. The 1st Amendment is essentially American religion. Other countries cannot realistically relate - particularly the UK.
Have you guys just never spoken to Europeans before? Culturally, they do not mince words when it comes to sharing their opinions and criticisms. They speak their minds more comfortably than most Americans. They also have the education to foster critical thinking as opposed to simply repeating their local country's rhetoric of exceptionalism.

In a bad way - taking cards away from the table and getting it back 5 minutes later

Considering I've spent significant time in Europe and have European family members, yes.
I am not saying anything about "American Exceptionalism." But I have heard, and spoken with many Europeans about the free speech issues. You can get arrested across the UK for saying things that are not OK with the state. This is very rare here - not impossible, but rare.
There are loads of freedoms that the Euros have that we think, incorrectly, are unique to the US. Codified free speech actually is unique to us.
