I have a very cheap lifestyle. I'm good at stretching a dollar. I wasn't making anywhere near OT baller pay. Wouldn't have left if the pay was decent.

Get some experience and then get the hell out of LA. Your family (or future family) and your wallet will thank you

This is a good point. I'm pretty sure Indeed and similar services screen out inquiries through key words or lack of them. For example, it may screen things out if the application answers no to this certification or that license or years of experience, etc. That probably works in a lot of cases but you may have a better chance going directly to the hiring entity if you have special qualifications or qualities that don't fit into the Indeed check box system.

Took me over 2 years with a Masters to find a job in my field and I found a great one and was promoted after 10 months. It’s tough out there.

This is very good advice. Everything is so automated these days that it's easy to get lost in the shuffle if not screened out. Looked for someone who is a connection to someone in your network or just search for the recruiter at that company.

Try going to job fairs or networking through friends/family. I've received offers through connections I never would have imagined existed. You have to literally put yourself out there.
Unless your resume is in the top one percent, applying online is, more often than not, a huge waste of time.

Yes I know I've applied with them at least once. I think I've sent resumes to all the big tech recruiting companies in the area.

Hang in there man! I got laid off in August with no warning. Luckily I was able to pick up some contract work for income and today I have three offers sitting in front of me. I must have applied to over 100 jobs in the past six months then it all happened in the last three weeks.
