My dad passed away just over a month ago, he wore this watch nearly daily after he retired about 15 years ago but had purchased it (again) in 1999. I think I'll continue in that rather than just having it sit idle in the case with my other watches. 1997 16263 Turn-O-Graph "Thunderbird".

Sorry to hear about your Dad, bud.

That watch is a great reminder.

Random thread with a random bump.

Pelagos Ultra. Tudor dropped a new black bay chrono 39 in a bumblebee yellow today. I want to see it in person, but I'm sure it'll end up in the watch box this year.

Seiko Samurai Gen 3 Blue Dial. Ordered a blue Seiko silicone strap for it. Not luxury by any stretch, but this thing is a work of art and its caliber is 4R35 which is apparently a work horse and very easy to service.

Been watching videos showing assembly and disassembly of mechanical watches, different calibers and their respective manufacturers, et cetera. Horology (pause) is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Yep Uncle Jubilee with the original Tudor clasp.

ETA: makes it look/feel very vintage

I thought my TAG Senna and Formula 1 watches were luxury. Then I looked at the prices of Rolex and Breitling. Good grief.

Love the dimensions, not wild about the dial

I'm not as much sure when it comes to Breitling but with Rolex, as far as you avoid paying a premium from a gray market dealer for a hard-to-otherwise-find or high-demand model, you are basically buying something that will hold its value forever.

When I retire from the military, think I'll get something like this as a retirement gift to myself.
