Carpentry is a good call, whoever said that.

I'd also love to a fantastic chess player. That'd be fun.

At an older age I tried to learn to play the piano, but failed big time. Too much going on at the same time with both hands and a foot doing different things. My brain was like "frick all that". I may try guitar next.

Not a skill, but I did pick up Yoga (just the physical stuff, not the weird cult stuff) later in life and love it. I have more range of motion and flexibility than I had in my 20's to 40's.

Picked this up in my 30s. Not exaggerating, it's been life changing.

Could I name a skull to give one of my employees instead? Feels like the only way I'll have free time.

Nothing.

I spend most of my time on my two main hobbies at it is. Woodworking and fishing. Fishing is relaxing and woodworking is cathartic.

Don't ever get into woodworking if you're not ready to spend a lot of time, effort and money. It consumes a lot of all three.

ETA--seriously, woodworking is amazing, but it will lead down a Neverending rabbit hole. Numerous types of hardwoods and softwoods, dozens of ways to construct a joint, allowing for seasonal wood movement on large pieces like tabletops, big power machines vs old school hand tools like planes and chisels.

Even finishing is a rabbit hole. Shellac, pre cat lacquer, polyurethane, natural oils like boiled linseed oil or tung oil, waxes and then hard oil waxes like Rubio Monocoat.

I order bug excretion resin flakes (dewaxed shellac flakes), mix it with denatured alcohol and make my own shellac.
