I haven’t eaten McDonalds sober in about 5 years...

I haven't either...outside of breakfast.

Those hashbrowns and bacon, egg, cheese biscuits are still delicious AF.

Sugar, fat and salt. Huge quantities in everything. That's what the majority of Americans want and that's what McDonald's gives them. Capitalism at its most basic level. Demand and supply.

Yeah, I want to say.. At one point, the Catholic church owned the most land throughout the world. Then they started selling off land which made McDonalds first in land ownership.

While subways are everywhere, their stores are smaller and in many of their locations, they do not own the land. Like the ones in Walmart or in some other type of building.

Read something about this in a business class once. Most people go to McDonalds because they are very familiar with the product and they know they'll get the same food in Peoria as they do in Miami.

Tourists flood the local McDonalds in summer.

I once read that 25% of all blacks in the US eat at McD's at least once a week

I eat at mcdonalds at least once a week. It is way more consistent than its competitors like Wendy's and BK. I have one right by my house in Dallas and usually just get a sausage biscuit or mcgriddle or a mcdouble. Cheap, tastes good, fast. Judge away

Poor people.
Uneducated, unhealthy ppl.
Hungover people.
People looking for something quick and cheap.
People looking for convenience (there's a McD EVERYWHERE).
People waiting for the limited return of the McRib.

Their breakfast is solid for fast food, that's probably a big part of it. The only times I've ever had non breakfast there in the last decade plus was probably on a road trip. Relatively clean bathrooms and locations near interstate exits plays a role too.

I've read before that McDonald's is essentially a real estate corporation.

Their shitty, unhealthy, low-quality, cheap, convenient, [sometime] quick, delicious food.

Next question.

If McDonalds depended on shake sells, they would be in bad shape because their machines, used to make shakes, are often broken.

How is that?

#metoo

I read a book about McD's that said Kroc had owned the company for several years, and it was popular but not terribly profitable. Then he found some financial guru who showed him how to control the land the restaurants were on, and make a fortune that way. But I don't recall the details,
