This is my biggest fear. Something about dying while asleep. I don't know how to explain it. I've even had a couple of procedures done awake because the doctor allowed it.
My other biggest fear is funeral homes, I can do the graveside service but stay at a distance. Inside the funeral home, the casket, etc. Everything about it.
I've been around a lot of people dead, blown up, blood guts, it doesn't bother me. But the funeral and everything about it is a no go.

That there is neither an afterlife nor a reset future: that once we are all dead and gone the universe will continue to heat death and that's literally the end of everything. What was the point of it all?

Dimi, I think you just posted my response for me. Same three.
First, daughter's health fear.
Second, I had had a cousin whose daughter was abducted and murdered. From an early age my daughter attracted comments and attention due to being very beautiful and as she grew up random people would ask to take selfie photos with her, or tv cameras would find her at sports events or fairs and festivals.
Third, the scariest illness to me is ALS. I have the greatest of admiration for Steve Gleason. Dementia would still allow eating food and other bodily functions and I guess you would be somewhat unaware of it.

That my AuADHD kid will suffer in life without us around. He's just level 1, but everyday I wonder if he'll ever be able to live on his own. If we die, what will his life be?

Having a boss .
And if i had a boss, id fear being micromanaged by that boss .. i have major authority issues and control issues … so i guess id throw in being trapped in prison or in a wheelchair as well .
ETA or trapped in my own body like with ALS, or the buried alive scenario mentioned above .
.

I had my 10th surgery last Tuesday and you will be surprised how quickly Propofol works. What you are having done is not life threatening or require a long term recovery with PT involved since it's not joint related. Probably in a sling to limit movement and help healing.
I'm recovering from Carpel Tunnel surgery on my left hand and have no use of it right now----so this response is being done slowly with my right hand only.

There is a high likelihood CO2 injected below our aquifers is going to leak and harm and/or ruin our source of water.
Man, it is no wonder you are worried about this…it is on the KALB news three times per day.
CO2 is naturally occurring and comes from under the ground. It is not toxic and is in fact, what makes soft drinks fizzy.
If CO2 leaked into ground water, all that would happen is that your water would be carbonated right from the tap!

I'm afraid of doctors. But my worst fear is accidently killing a kid. Like hitting one who steps out in front my car.

I remember the summer after 4th grade I had to have rods put in my back. The doctor comes in the day before to talk about it, I would be in surgery for 5 hrs, et and he said something like "and this surgery has roughly a 2% death rate". My 4th grade mind was like "wait, this can kill me?". I mentioned it to my parents and my dad was like "the good thing is, you will be put under so if you die you will not even know".
So I leave this with you. More than likely you will be fine, you can't worry about what you cant control (I know.. easier said than done). Even if something happens, it will likely not be extreme. Nothing you can do about it other than doing what you need to do to take care of it.
The scariest part of being put under (although I haven't had too many surgeries. My back, my gallbladder removed and on my hand in which I wasn't put all the way out. It was an old school doctor. late 90s. He gave his patient the least amount possible for him to get the job done. I could hear him snip the muscle and knew my hand was being worked on, but I didn't feel it and I didn't give a shite what he was doing.
My fear is the unexpected. I like to have shite planned out. In my head, when I do things, its all done in steps. This, this, that this. I have an expectation of the day as well as the week. In a blink of an eye something can happen and then life is sent in a whole different direction. I fear not having control of how it will impact things.

This is almost a universal fear. My cardiologist told me he also gets “white coat syndrome”.
Doctors themselves are afraid of going to the doctor!
