Great Pyrenees. Very protective without being unnecessarily vicious. Mine has been in a couple of scraps with my neighbors Golden Retrievers (who are good dogs)...once to protect my wife's dumbass Boston Terrier who decided to pick a fight with the 4 GRs and once to protect my 10 year old stepson when 1 of the GRs approached him on our property in a less than friendly manner. Both times, she just barrelled into the Alpha GR, knocking him down, and then stood over him with a look that said "Dude, you don't want none of this". Just enough force to remedy the situation.

Australian Shepherd mixed with shepherd and other herding breeds.
Dutch/German Shepherd mixed with other large breeeds.
We did dog DNA swab tests on our pups through Wisdom. They go back at least 3 generations in their report .

we did one of these a while back on the blond dog in my post.
told us he has Rhodesian Ridgeback and Corgi in him....this dog showed up at my mom's work in Plaquemine so I don't think I trust those particular results We haven't tried another one to see if there's something more accurate.

Boykin’s- My daughter has one that will eat a deer antler in a matter of days. Smart dog with lots of drive. Still a good lap buddy.

we did it in 2014 and I can't find any info. I guess I didn't save a pdf b/c the link to results doesn't work anymore.
I think he's lab, maybe some pit and some sort of hound. I lean towards some sort of sight hound b/c he will sort of point when he sees something he wants like a bird or squirrel.

When I was a kid, we had a cocker spaniel/beagle mix that was a sweetheart.
When I got married, my wife's (no pics) family had two Rottweilers that I had to live with. They were very protective of the family, and it took them awhile to get used to me but once they did, they were good dogs.
My present dog is a lab/Aussie shepherd mix. A big, sweetheart dummy.
These are the only dogs I've ever had.

German shepherd easy. But a friend of mine has a Samoyed and they breed is really growing on me.

He's great. Both boys really are. They are the bestest of friends and have been together for 10 years now (pit/mastiff is 12 and blondy is 11 1/2)
He's deceptively agile for his size. He's snatched birds out of the air when they've gotten to close.

The Pitbull.
No other breed more responsible for Fatal attacks against mostly harmless humans and children.
I love my Pitts. Keeps the neighbors and their annoying spawn from knocking on my doors.
Anyone who steps to me is getting delt with. One I can control one but both of them is a challenge.
And yes, they are mostly harmless and completly stupid.
One of them already chewed the sheetrock off the wall on the rental house.
