For most of the world, it is. Americans have gotten so fat on average that our idea of "normal" is not normal.

In the 90s, the character, Al Borland, used to be considered fat. His body type is the new American normal for adult males.

22.9 so I'm good. Back when I was lifting almost every day I went into the overweight scale but I had single digit body fat percentage. BMI isn't always right.

Yes, for most Americans that don't work out, they don't have this problem.

Americans are so dumb

They all think they have the body mold and composition of football players. They need to strive and workout to look like tennis players, not linebackers. Maybe then we wouldnt have so many overweight idiots with fat guts wearing tight shirts to show of their biceps as their belly protrudes over their belt

BMI is a terrible measurement of health. I show up at 25.1 (overweight). I am also under 10% body fat

You are exception to the rule and less that 5% of the population. Overall it's a good quick indicator

I'm 6'1 and weigh 210 pounds and am at 27.7 BMI. Admittedly, I could stand to lose 10 to 15 pounds, but man I would be miserable and wouldn't be able to keep that off. I can get down to about 205 no problem without being too miserable though.

I know I need to lose weight, but at 6'4 they want me to weight less then 205 to be normal, and that isn't happening.

I was 170 in high school at 6'5" and I was a literal beanpole. When I played football in college I worked my way up to 225. Now with kids, sedentary job and an affinity for beer my weight has crept up to "Obese" category.

23.7 which looks like I'm getting to the high end of normal weight at 5'10 165 lb. I put in 155 just to see what it gave me, and it was 22.2. That's nowhere close to the underweight range, but I'm skinny as shite if I ever get below 160.
