Maybach. But more traditionally the S class. The AMG versions are their performance cars (like M with BMW) and the Black series of AMG cars are their "stupid" performance cars.
One could argue it is still the S class as the top line since the Maybach is arguably "just" just a version of the S class but Mercedes separates it and it starts about $80k more than the bottom of the S class line (about $170k),

Out of the loop for 30 years huh? The Hammer was a Mercedes E class tuned by AMG (before Mercedes acquired them) and was last sold at the end of the 80's. AMG is now Mercedes inhouse tuning branch that "tunes" about a dozen Merc models.
