I stopped drinking over a decade ago 
before that, I will say Ron Del Barrilito 3 Star was mighty fine. I had some 5 Star, but good luck with getting that.

I prefer bourbon, but a good rum during the summer is just as good as a good bourbon in the fall/winter time imo.

Spiced rum is good for mixing. I love it with ginger ale.
Aged rum is for sipping and I'll take a premium rum over any whiskey.

Kraken Black Spiced Rum is still my go-to shooter liquor. I never have to worry about other people downing my bottle at gatherings either. Hate if you want to hate.

Gave it up after drinking an entire 5th of captain in a 2.5 hour period tailgating for the LSU UGA game in 2008.
Made it to the student section miraculously. Then was tossed out for being shite housed.
I was awake but have no recollection of about 12 hours. Good times.

Not a fan of spiced rum, but I enjoy sipping a golden Puerto Rican rum called Ron del Barrilito on ice. It used to only be available in Puerto Rico, but now you can get it at Total Wine or Spec's. (in Texas) If you get it, get the 3-star.
