New emissions laws favor larger displacement, NA cars, per what I read from Porsche

Get a Mini Cooper S. They are a lot of fun but a bit of maintenance is required.

If you want to go crazy get a Mini Cooper and put a Honda K series engine in it. There is a guy that makes bolt in kits.

Mini's handle like race cars. Now imagine putting down 400 HP in a gokart. You can be all in for 17k on the outside.

You can get have. A pick of a lot of classic muscle cars for under $100k. And won’t depreciate as much as a new one.

Lot easier to work on

Parts more available.

And they won’t be spying on you.

Why anyone one would by a new muscle car is beyond me.

This.

Why they don’t make an AWD version. Is beyond me.

Ford Mustang GT
Chevrolet Camaro

These are the obvious answers IMO.

The Camaro ZR1 is so good it was pissing off up optioned vette owners by being as good at a much lower price point.

Edit: ZL1

Most people who love classic cars haven’t ever had to maintain them.

A 1968 Camaro SS is almost 60 years old at this point.

They leak.
They break.
The AC doesnt work very well.
It’s difficult if not impossible to take them on long trips without a trailer.

Let me be clear: I love them. But at this point they’re high maintenance museum pieces that are difficult to use, extremely expensive to purchase and basically require you to enjoy wrenching or they will make you hate them.

Not to mention they drive terribly unless they are restomodded to hell and back. I've wanted a 79 Trans Am forever because my parents had one when I was a kid. But after owning tons of modern sports cars I realize that's a hero I probably don't want to meet.

There is no such thing as a Camaro ZR1, yet it’s “pissing off Vette owners “?

As you already know I meant the ZL1 and yes it was an issue at the GM level as was told to me by a senior engineer on the Camaro project.

I quit trying to read minds/ assume anything after I was first introduced to women as a teenager.

The top of the line Camaro/ Firebird has always nipped at the heals of the base Corvette.

But this isnt anything new....As stated above.

The Gen 4 SS and WS6 were nearly as fast as the base C5.

That K24 R53 Cooper is no joke.

You don't get them in the US but the Seat Leon Cupra is popular on this side of the pond. A compact with 300 hp.

Yes but it's still a honda civic LOL. Not a purpose built car. Still damn impressive and better than some AWD cars that I've had. If you can stomach something used an Rs3 is a riot. Can run 10's on the street with minimal mods. the 5cyl engine is awesome. I regret selling mine but we were buying a new house and had to buy a ton of furniture lol.
