What is the max pitch count for a 10 yr old?

We signed our grandson up for a local league He pitched just a few innings last year. He’s an average baseball player I guess but with this team he’s one of the better ones. Apparently all the really good players play travel ball ( from what I’m told) they haven’t even tried another pitcher in practice. I’m not a “ baseball” guy and I don’t think these coaches know much more than me. So what is the maximum number of pitches for a 10yr old? Tia

i usually shut my kids down around 120, ymmv. if he wants a lower pitch count, tell him to throw more strikes - pretty simple

You need to rest Jaxon's arm and make sure he still has gas for the big leagues baw.

Unless he's trying to put spin on it just let the kid throw.

The formula is the number of letters in his name x 9 for each awkwardly inappropriate Y in his name

Depends on how many breaking balls he’s throwing

I need to know his K%, BB%, HR/9, BABIP, GB%, FIP, xFIP, and WAR first.

What's his fastball speed?
We can tell you if he's worth the time and effort.

Why the fck would you ask the OT a question like this?
They would be better able to answer a question about changing oil or the best night to pick up sluts at Cadillac Cafe.

A ten year old kid shouldn’t throw more than about 50-60 pitches and hopefully he stretches that out over several innings.

8 innings per tourney.

Depends on how many sliders I’m having my kids throw. I always make sure my 9-10 yo team has two dependable kids who can pump sliders in for strikes. Winning solution. We won the state championships in Slidell the last two years.

I make Braxtdun throw 300 pitches a day.
There are two things you need if you're gonna be the ace for the Yankees: a strong arm and a strong name.

145-160 pitches should be the limit

Depends upon the league, but USSSA, which a lot of these travel ball teams play in, says, for ages 7-12...
If you pitch more than 3 innings in a day, you cannot pitch the next day.
You cannot pitch more than 6 innings in a day.
You cannot pitch more than 8 innings in three days.
Note those are per day, not per game.
Number of pitches isn't a factor. That's my first problem with the current rules and why I think we are seeing a lot more injured kids. My second problem is that is the range for ages 7-12. I think that is too wide of a range... Hell the idea of 7-8 year olds pitching at all is insane to me.
