ten year old kid shouldn’t throw more than about 50-60 pitches and hopefully he stretches that out over several innings.

Braxton and Jayden can throw at least 120 a game. No rest needed. Their coaches tell me that we can expect them to be middle of the pack first rounders out of high school. I can’t wait. I have already bought an f250 and a baja. The kids can pay them off for me one day.

All youth baseball players should learn to pitch if for nothing else but a batting practice player.
All baseball practices should be centered around pitching and hitting off live pitchers. There is WAY too much standing around in youth sports. Way too much soft toss and tee hitting. Baseball is one of the worst culprits of it.

At 10 it's 75 pitches.
Also very important:
Pitchers league age 14 and under must adhere to the following rest requirements:
If a player pitches 66 or more pitches in a day, four (4) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 51-65 pitches in a day, three (3) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 36-50 pitches in a day, two (2) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 21-35 pitches in a day, one (1) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 1-20 pitches in a day, no (0) calendar day of rest is required.

10 year old playing travel ball is the stupidest frickin thing I've ever heard. Sounds like a great way to blow out your arm in a few years
Posted on 3/18/19 at 6:50 pm to BowDownToLSU
Chances are he isn't throwing hard enough or with enough torque to hurt anything. As his arm gets tired he will just lose control of his pitches and thats a good indicator he needs to be pulled.
The main thing is giving his arm enough rest afterwards.

The real answer is about 60 pitches or so. Err on the side of caution.

not much of a limit if he sticks to just fb and cu, if he's mixing in curves, sliders, drops, probably around 350
Posted on 3/18/19 at 6:57 pm to BowDownToLSU
How many games and practices are they having in a week? Is he pitching every practice?
The simple answer would probably be 50-75 per week. The numbers of curve balls, sliders, whatever else that's not a fastball or changeup, he should be throwing is ZERO.

Fast balls and change ups only. Throw strikes. every pitch can be slightly different speeds No curve balls etc...

DYB is 65 and then you need 3 days rest.

Depends on if he sucks or not.

If you’re looking for good info you need to read a book called Minimizing injury, maximizing performance by dr. Tommy john jr. The son of tommy john who the surgery is named after. It’s all about youth baseball and preventing injury etc.
Get on the google and do some research. You’ll be shocked at how few pitches he needs to be throwing overall at this age.
Don’t let some over zealous dad/coach tell you he needs to be throwing 120 pitches every few days.

If you stick to this and player doesn’t complain of soreness, 75 pitches with at least a days rest between appearances. 180 per week max

Short answer is 75 but fatigue should be the indicator for any coach. Many at this age start losing control around 40 and it declines as the count rises.. The rise in arm injuries especially at the youth level is simple and two fold. Kids not resting in off season and the striving for more velocity.. The breaking stuff isn’t that bad when kids are older and properly throw it but seeing 13-14 year old kids hit 80 and over on the gun is dangerous long term

Also NO JUNK! Fast ball and change ups only. Work on form, technique, and hitting the target. Nothing else matters.

It's never too young for a Tommy John's surgery...
