What is the deal with recent dropout Murphy Painter in Ascension Parish? (pedo-related)

I am not from the AP but have a coworker telling me that there is some crazy drama coming to light over decades of pedophilia being covered up by the AP's sheriff office.

Supposedly participated in covering up a series of rapes committed by a co-worker when he was a deputy. Rumors are at least one victim was underage. The cases are well over a decade old.

Oh, there’s no question Painter did what he was accused of IMHO. He just outlived his usefulness to Jindal so those charges went forth rather than being quashed.
The state had to pay some hefty fines to the feds for misuse of the background checks IIRC.

BUT, I know for a fact that he is dirty. His years as CCD were terrible.
I'm kinda leaning toward him being involved in some way with Barry Seal.

Careful.
Murphy was railroaded and told a certain head of the ATC that he would see him reduced to nothing. He did it publicly.
Does the OT not remember when a certain person's car was set on fire less than a mile from his home and it was broken on here before the fire trucks were even on route?
ETA: mp is a POS, but not for the ATC things.
