But yeah, the parish owned the land, not sure how you don't count that as a new park.

I’m probably wrong then. But I will say that park comes in handy and we use it quite often

Early voting at the community center was as easy as it has ever been for me to vote

I don't disagree with that. Just hilarious to see probably $1MM in recreational spending when it was one of the largest traffic choke points in the Parish.

Some believe that this is also a police coverup.

That was supposed to help get Chris Loar elected as Parish President. When that failed the second stab was A Better Ascension to get him appointed as Parish President.

You must frequent local blogs to post this non factual garbage. Chris Loar was not on ABA's radar.

quote:

BTW, one of the biggest supporters of A Better Ascension is in a runoff for State Representative - Brandon Trosclair. Remember that if you have a chance to vote on November 16th. He wanted to take away your right to vote.

This is also another mountain of ignorance...

How is taking away your right to vote by bringing a vote to the people to make a change in government. That is giving the people the chance to choose what they want. Leaving the decision to the citizens to decide, not killing it at the council so the citizens don't even get to choose.

Keep spouting lies though, that's all the opposition was good at. I bet you believed that ABA had around a million dollars in the chest as well. So much of the conspiracy theories were laughable. Just because a local blog writes it or a wing of prominent family (who has major interest in keeping the status quo because many of their businesses have contracts with AP government) and their political lackies say it at the podium at a council meeting, that does not make it true.

Who is the prominent family or their businesses?

One of them will now sit on the council.

Spouting what? The truth? I attended two of the sparsely, or rather very sparsely, ABA meetings at the request of a friend of mine who was surprisingly very much a part of the team. The name Chris Loar came from him, not from some mythical blog you speak of. And the most prominent name you are apparently afraid to let out is John Scanlan from Eatel. But Trosclair from Ralph's Market is certainly another.

Wrong? You amuse me. I did attend two meetings and I know what I know. And if Scanlan and Trosclair are not two of the prominent members of this little clique then their names need to be taken off of their website and Scanlan needs to inform the Louisiana Secretary of State that he is not the director of ABA. I am sure that want to get it straight.

You just have issues with reading comprehension because they are not the prominent people that I speak of or was keeping from mentioning. So you just keep amusing me with your lack of knowledge. Keep mentioning Chris Loar though as if he has anything to do with ABA other than being mentioned as being the only candidate to run for parish president to have the degree needed to be a parish manager. Nothing beyond that though.

I don't know what the deal is, but I can remember more than a few friends who were deputies from back then who hated his guts. They never would say why though.

Well,well, well,

Murphy cleared and now who's being investigated? ROTFL!
All the POS's that started this. Potentially withholding so called evidence is a crime. Whatever the other things your new president and his gang were involved in should be out in a few weeks. It's being held pretty tight, hope I'll get info soon.

Pull up a chair shite getting interesting now.

What are you talking about? Not being sarcastic, I really don't know.

ETA: Also, if I'm wrong about ole Murphy then I'll gladly admit it. I always admit when I'm wrong and have no problem doing so. I just know that he surrounds himself with those who would have expected many favors had he won and that was the driving force behind me not supporting him. Also, I didn't support Clint, either. I am happy he "won" and not Murphy but I was always a huge Rick Webre supporter first and foremost.

After Murphy Painter dropped out of the Parish Presidents race due to his low numbers he didn't want his supporters to fund his run off will slim chances he would win.

But his haters came here saying he dropped out because he was being investigated for covering up crap from 20 years ago. State police have now debunked that.
It was all political mud slinging that may backfire on your president elect and his cronies. He and his friends "found evidence" and reportedly they held for more that 4 years with out bringing it to authorities. So now the investigation is headed in a new direction.

Did state police debunk that he was covering it up or that there was even a cover up at all?

If so, then there will be MANY others investigated for that as well because even as a young boy I knew the story of Harold Tridico drinking his troubles away at a very common bar in Donaldsonville then hitting & killing a guy on a motorcycle on River Road in Donaldsonville and forcing his deputies to cover for him since there was a death involved. Point is, if I heard about this as a young teenager then there were a lot of folks involved in the cover up.

Not saying it's okay but just saying this cover up goes much deeper than Murphy Painter or Clint Cointment and his cronies.

Report said there was no evidence of any reported or unreported rape cases that was not investigated period.

I can tell you there is an investigation still on going. But Painter isn't in the cross hairs.

Well anytime there's wrongdoing I support an investigation and justice, regardless of who is at the center of it. I just hope the investigation isn't politically motivated because that's the kind of investigation I can't get behind.

FTR -- when the Pelican Post released that audio of Painter I was pissed even though I wasn't one of his supporters. It's a stoop to a low level and wasn't really anything that many in the parish didn't already know. Which is why, I suspect, he was so willing to freely say what he said. He was probably thinking what I thought -- that it was common knowledge.
