I dare anyone to speed down Hwy 24 in Houma. The only question is who will get you first the state, parish or city cops.

Smokey sits on the south side of the overpass, southbound. He'll flip on his lights and expect you to pull up to him for your ticket.

I have family in the area and it's not as bad as it used to be. At least it's 55mph thru town and there are warning signs to slow down in advance of the speed change.

Hwy 30. Saint Gabriel. Do not speed as they keep intense pressure on.

Regardless of when you read this, there are cops running radar in both Clinton and Wilson.

I just shake my head and laugh when I go through Monroe. Troopers will wait under every stinking overpass and fling that door open or run out in the middle of traffic to shoot yer tail. Then they have the nerve to pester the crap out of you calling day and night for donations!!!!! WTC!!! They ain’t getting NOTHING voluntarily from me... EVER!!!!

Troopers in La ain’t nothing but a bunch of highway robbers and thugs, and that’s a fact! Buncha thieves!!! Gets my dander up!!!! Protect and serve ,my lilly white tookus!!! More like “To Rob and Steal!”

Interesting that they are doing it "per capita."

Comparing Baskin, pop. 246, to Woodworth, pop. 1,109, it looks like Woodworth is writing more than twice the number of tickets, assuming that the fines are the same.

It's because the real speed trap isn't necessarily the total number of tickets, but rather the percentage of the town's budget that comes from those tickets.

I can't remember exactly, but Baskin had something like 9 cops for 248 people.

Frick Woodworth. I got a bullshite ticket there in the early 90s and the judge was the mayor of the town. When I went to contest it he had this frickin arrogant grin on his face the whole time.
Backwoods arse people.

I don't know how bad it is, but at the intersection of 165 and 84, I almost always see a cop. He parks under the trees in a dark gray car.

It’s still Golden Meadow. Clinton will give you a run for your money, though.
