This is a question I was pondering earlier this morning.

I went to UT and have been to Athens, Auburn, Baton Rouge, both Columbia's (although Mizzou doesn't really count), and Nashville.

Aside from the bars on Broadway, which are in a league of their own, I'd have to admit that Boar's Head in Athens is my favorite SEC spot. The Athens bar scene in general is top notch.

UT's bar scene is admittedly lame nowadays. It used to be much better when Tin Roof and Rumorz were open. Now it's a bunch of shitty 18+ places and a constantly overcrowded Cool Beans (which is basically the Reggie's of Knoxville). The Old City is where everyone goes now.

I like the Swamp in Gainesville.

ETA: Damn, no love for the Swamp Bar?

Nothing like the good old days of: Ivy's, The Annex, The Library, The Last Lap and Old College Inn.

Ugh I miss that place. They literally razed it to the ground a couple of years ago.

I like Boars Head too

It's not legendary but it is solid

Supper Club in Auburn was always a legit contender in these discussions, which makes it all the more depressing that it's gone

In Tuscaloosa it would probably be Innisfree and the Houndstooth. My personal favorite was Moes BBQ tho.

there is zero chance i would vote for anything other than somewhere in athens for this, so ill avoid that topic. boars head is awesome IMO and is up there for me. magnolias, georgia theatre rooftop, bourbon, allgood, and sandbar are the others that have stood the test of time.

sky bar in auburn is pretty awesome, but it is the entire bar scene. you have to lose points for that for some reason.

Yep.

All the good bars in Auburn have been closed or changed since I was there except for Sky Bar. I wouldn't consider it anything exceptional though. It's a fun college bar, but I've been in many bars in many college towns that were just as fun.

I barely recognize the entire campus today and I left almost 15 years ago.
