What is something you've learned during this crisis?

For me, it was the fact that we have plenty of pharmaceuticals manufactured outside of the country. It's just something I've never put thought into before but of course it make sense, we make everything else there. It started with cheap shite and "luxury" items that we don't really need like most of the equipment I wear for hiking, stuff that's nice to have but not necessary in a large scale crisis like medicine or medical equipment is.

This started to make me think about how much of our military equipment is made overseas? What if we were to go to war with a country who we rely on for production of essential items such as these? Or if something outside of our control happens to that country and threatens a critical supply chain (similar to what's happening now?)

I really cannot beleive we let an authoritarian and communist country control so much of what we use on a day to day basis. It's legitimately terrifying. But what's even scarier is I know by and large people won't ever really care once things go back to normal and things will still be made abroad and there will be a moment sometime in the future where it bites us in the arse even harder than it does right now.
