It's important to me I pay for my kids' college. My folks didn't have a dime for me.

I want them to come visit my lake house, ride on my ski boat, and enjoy track day in my Ferrari.

International travel

My family traveled a lot growing up. We would go on 2 month long road trips every summer. I had visited like 45 states by the time I was 17, but we only ever went to Canada for "international" travel. My Dad refused to fly anywhere.

A mom at home when they get home ..

My mom worked out of necessity but just her driven personality.

I worked full time until child number one was 5 and then only part time during school hours since then. They’re now almost 30, 25 and 21. They have commented before about having liked me being hime after school.

I was fortunate to be able to do that.

I'm already giving my children everything I didn't have growing up - a big yard to play in, a safe neighborhood to grow up in, and savings accounts that should be enough to fund their college education, weddings, and vehicles. Don't get me wrong, I didn't go without while growing up because my parents sacrificed a shite ton to make us not even know we were poor but looking back now, I have no idea how we didn't know. My parents did a fantastic job of making sure we didn't feel what they were feeling. I did grow up in the hood of Donaldsonville, though and that's something my children will NOT ever say.

Some basics - How to shave, how to change a tire, etc..
Actual life lessons while I was developing as a teenager

Parents who are able to attend extracurricular activities and sporting events

Other than that I had it really good. Didn't have any material wants withheld that would have substantially changed my childhood.
