A lot of posters on this site are out of touch with reality.

Of course there are more factors at play, but why is it that it correlates with ease of living and wealth?

Probably because wealth comes with other responsibilities and problems. I mean, the janitors in my office are probably less anxious than some of the attorneys. It’s not because they’re poor. It’s because they don’t have the same stress at work

I was a kid in the 80s and I still see kids doing all the same shite we did, mine do also.
My oldest just went through kindergarten, and personally the thing I was most proud of was he brought his notebook home one day and the 'S' you make from the 6 lines was on the front

We are all gonna be alright

One one hand I think it is worse, but on the other hand its a result of pharmaceuticals pushing their drugs, which they want as many people as possible using.

Kids in HS trying to get into college and having to do so well on all these standardized test.. That creates stress and anxiety. When I was a teenager (during the 90s, we went out just about every weekend. Someone was having a party or there were certain places everyone would meet up.

Everyone would get together with their group of friends and by the middle of the night people work get something together to do. Kids don't do shite like that anymore.

Parents obviously should be involved in their kids life, but it seems like parents are too involved now. I never wanted to be around my parents when I was a teenager. Now parents are going on senior trips with their kids. It seems like they don't have time to unwind. Just more pressure on them.

Maybe things were simpler when people lived outside of the technology bubble. Kids these days are so preoccupied with everyone else.

I was actually diagnosed with anxiety about 5 years ago. Every day at work I’d start to get dizzy and nauseous. First doctor thought it was vertigo. Second doctor did an EEG, deduced that it was stress and anger. It comes in different ways.

Test anxiety is a type of performance anxiety, because there is pressure to do well in a specific situation. People can experience test anxiety for a number of reasons. They may fear failure and the uncertainty of the future if they do poorly on an examination.

This is just the "everybody gets a trophy" mentality again. Not everyone gets an A on the test. Some people get Cs. If a person gets a C then maybe they're just not Harvard material, and that's ok! The coddling has convinced average students that they deserve As.
