This is the picture my daughter texted me this afternoon. That’s one of the four brand new Michelin Defender tires I forked out $820 to have installed on her car less than two weeks ago.

ETA:,I forgot to mention, this isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact, it’s the same damned curb!

Wouldnt even think twice about the solution. People have to learn that $820 is not cheap. Do it once, you can pay me back over a few months. Do it again, your arse rides a bike for a few months.

I would give her a break on the first one…but if it happened a second time that replacement tire would be coming out of her pocket.

We can't see them.

It's science.

As a father, the only thing more terrifying to me than my daughter on the road driving a car is her on the road riding a bicycle.

I found out about three or four years ago I was kissing the curb every time I turned right into my neighborhood... I literally never noticed. Lived here for 26 years.

My husband finally noticed. I'm more careful now.

There was a time when, especially here in the South, a lot of women never bothered to learn to drive. I, and my wife as well, had multiple aunts and great-aunts who lived their entire lives without ever bothering to learn to drive. They saw driving as beneath them and “unladylike.” That was their husband’s job.

The older I get, the more wisdom I see in our forefathers and mothers.

Bruh, I have a wife and 2 girls. I've replaced more tires than a NASCAR pit crew

Trust me, you want the damn tire protection policy for all of them.

Everytime I ride with my wife, she cuts a right turn short and runs over the curb. She is hell on tires. She's way too old to teach now.

Apparently so. And it’s this one particular curb that is her nemesis.

My godfather was blind in one eye and he had those curb feelers on every car he drove. Riding with him going across the Miss. River on the Huey P. Long Bridge was an adventure in trust.

He would be white knuckled with his chest damn near touching the steering wheel as he squinted down the lanes and he would NEVER pass a semi if it was in the lane next to him.

He'd fall in behind it and let the chips fall where they may.
