Or a business, or maybe have an alarm system.

Does having an IP phone system on wired fiber optic count as a "land line"?

Absolutely.

I’m 99% certain anyone and everyone who still has a landline, that’s not for business purposes, only has it because it was a mandatory cable/internet bundle to “save money” and it gets zero use aside from robocalls.

Haven't had a landline in at least 15 years, so I wasn't in the first 5 percent but not too long after.

This is really the only one you need on the list. I doubt there are many in any other generation that have a landline.

Who doesn't wear a seatbelt?

Up here in Massachusetts, an ACTUAL copper land-line was running us $500+/yr just not worth it, better to roll that into Satellite phones.

Most people with “land lines” are just digital cable bullshite lines that will go out with the power, anyway.

I actually have a landline hookup and phone number because it comes with my local internet service package but don’t have a phone hooked to it

I have my great grandmothers antique rotary phone in a closet somewhere, I need to hook it up just for fun

yes, studies show that there are two groups that wear seat belts less then others, hint they're not Asians

It just seemed a very odd identifier to pair with landline retention.

#Me too. I tried that home VOIP for a few months then cancelled it altogether. That was in 2005.

Watch your kids trying to use it. It's good for a laugh.

I have the digital landline phone with my wifi connection. It a closed caption phone. I am hard of hearing and my cell phone just has a text message plan. it helps with calling local numbers etc... It a pain with the robot calls.

I got rid of my landline a few years ago, it saved me $15 a month.

Alarm service went up $12 ro put cell on since no landline.

For $36 a year I shoulda kept it.

I finally memorized my home phone number and it is a landline, so after 35 years with the same home number....I'm keeping it!

Yep. This is why I still have one. So I can call them at home while I am out, and they can call me if they set the house on fire.

Once my youngest gets a phone on her next bday—landline gone.
