Most of my friends/relatives that make good money are oil baws. They pull down 100k a year for a few years and spend irresponsibly and then want you to feel sorry for them when oil goes down and they get laid off and the well dries up.

My friend who has the most income is a trust fund baby and doesn't do much other than fly fish (he's a guide).
In terms of friends who actually work for their money? I'd have to say he's in finance and he makes probably close to $200k -- can't be sure about the specifics though because asking would be tacky.

I can believe it, some people at Aflac I met when I worked for them pulled in close to 500k because they got in early enough to catch many large companies. They really just had to maintain their relationships and catch the renewals each year.

Friends of mine(married couple)...husband was born into a wealthy family(like he has family that is close to very wealthy well known politicians). Wife doesn't work, husband owns several businesses(honestly not exactly sure all what he owns). Don't know exactly how much they make. But they live in a very nice home here and own homes in Spain and Florida. He also owns a couple nice exotic cars and several other vehicles between the homes they have.
Most laid back couple though. Awesome people. They are generous with their friends and are not high maintenance at all. You would never know they are wealthy if you first met them. I didn't know they were that wealthy until the first time I went to their house for a party they were having for Halloween.

My cousin is a renowned cancer surgeon. Owns his own practice and employs 5 other surgeons. I don't know what he makes but I'd imagine it's 7 figures.

Investment banking, too much money
Posted on 9/8/18 at 11:21 am to SavageTheTiger
He retired from Chrysler
he is a self made millionaire, from buying 4 family flats and houses and renting them out. He then later on found a partner and they bought 3 apartment complexes.
He makes major bank from the properties, w/o even adding in the properties values.
They bought a hardware store, get shite for fixing up the places and can get by with shady shite come tax time.
Not bad for a dude who was an auto factory worker, and now millionaire+.

Guy one year behind me a billionaire. CEO of private equity firm. But he went to Yale so I’m not jealous. When I get all WTF how did that happen? it’s at people who went to crap schools and seemingly lucked out with a position beyond their talents or efforts.
