Friend is a professor of engineering at a public university. He's making about $110k/year according to the public salary database.
He also is an active consultant and told me not too long ago that he charges $300/hour.
So what is that? $200k/year if his consulting is ~25 hours a month?

between me and a buddy of mine. I make more per hour, but he gets more in food stamps. I have a bigger trailer, though.

We did this thread last week and got up to around 20 billionaires. I bet we can hit 40 this time.

Have two friends who had parents start companies in the 90’s and then sell off and start other ones.
One has started/sold like three restoration companies and the last one he sold he got a job managing the southwest region.
Other one’s dad started one of the largest asbesto removal companies in the US.
Have no clue how much either make, but they both work for their dads. I’d assume it’s at the least six figures.

Went to college with a guy who helped start up a pump rental company... built up the oilfield market. Sold the company to United Rentals for $965 million. I don’t know how much he got exactly but I know he ain’t hurting !

Don’t know what he pulls down but I’m sure it’s lucrative...

My engineering profs used to (I’m sure still do) pull down WAY more money in their consulting gigs. One of them slipped up one time in conversation and we did the math

I know a guy that does some kind of consulting gig in NOLA, early 30’s and lives in an awesome house. Was behind him in line at an ATM one time and saw his balance was like 50k. He might be on the spectrum though.

My brother in law inherited the family business here in south Florida. It’s an arcade, go cart, batting cage, laser tag place. They do really really well. I’ve never asked what they make but I’m sure it’s six figures multiple times over probably close to half a millionish.

I have a couple friends who have made $50-$80M a piece trading oil and gas.
Those are the richet people I actually know, and regularly talk to. I know many more but I wouldn’t say we were friends.
