That was Yahweh, the national god of the Hebrews, not the God of all creation that sent His son Christ as salvation for the whole world. That's my take anyway.

So do you go to this college to become a preacher?

The “college” is unaccredited. You go there to get a job at the church or somewhere similar.

Dino lives in and is a member of Greystone Country club. He was a nice guy but got rich off peoples tithes. They preached giving above and beyond and he and the staff all lived way a live the means of the people he was asking for money.

I can see his GHIN handicap of 23. He is not a very good golfer apparently.

I also know first hand for a fact that when he was at HPC they would give him $1000 cash off the top of the tithe every Sunday. He would hand out $100 bills to The interns and students. Mostly the cute girls. To go eat and shop. There is definitely something wrong with this church culture.

The God that sent Christ is the eternal God. He is the same yesterday as he is tomorrow.

I agree. I can look past the other stuff because people are helped but the highlands college stuff is blatant thievery under the guise of sanctimony.

I encourage you to try a service at St. Symeon's, then. It's off University, right next to Lakeview.

I hate it when people criticize Prosperity Theology. Once I understood that Jesus wanted me to have an incredibly luxurious life that allowed me to model my righteousness to the poors, it made it so much easier for me to swindle people. Plus my FB likes are off the chain.

I wish there was a forum here on TD where I could have serious religious discourse with posters like you and ask serious questions to you without the OT snobs and atheists chiming in to troll and sabotage. TD is the only internet place I’ve ever come to.

Life Church is far and away the largest church in the country. Osteen has a big building but isn’t near the top.

What weirdo church you going to preach pastoral care issues from the pulpit.

Can’t imagine the sermon topic for the week, “Divorce is bad” being done anywhere

Simulcast preacher? No thank you, Jim Jones.

They preach health and wealth. Jesus wants you to be rich.

Cult.

Right, which is why Yahweh can't be Him, because there's an enormous change in temperament and approach from the OT "God" to the NT God. Yahweh is a regional, tribal god like Baal, retconned to be the universal creator after the Babylonian Exile to appeal to the Persians, who believed in a monotheistic deity. Yahweh's claim to universal godhood is fraudulent.

Christ and the God of the Christians is the one true risen King.

Church of the Highlands is a church that started in Birmingham, AL, in 2001 that has now grown to 22 campuses across the state of Alabama. The pastor is from Baton Rouge and went to LSU. They have started a college that is in the accreditation process and has about 1,000 students. Their are also in the process of creating an endowment that will allow all students to attend for free and receive a 4 year degree. I moved from Baton Rouge to Alabama to work for a ministry based out of Church of the Highlands.

The college that is connected to the church offers different areas of ministry a student can focus on buy you can also just focus on learning to become a better Christian leader and apply that experience to a regular job:
