Think about the idiots that went on a Disney cruise for their honeymoon.

I think they can do what they want with their money.

Everyone has a different idea of fun.

If they go with kids, to enjoy a resort on the property, or for the Food/Wine Festival, fine... not how I choose to spend my money but whatever.

The people that go nuts on Disney gear and/or Disney things in their home... fricking psychos.

ETA: Also anyone that gets married there is probably a weirdo. Just why?

If I am trying to be understanding, I guess I would assume they have some great nostalgic memories of a less miserable time in life that they are trying to recapture

I do not think it is so strange I guess if they grew up on disney and had a good childhood association with. Some people are just more nostalgic and sentimental than others

It can go overboard into obsession though

Our elderly neighbors just got back and I said "oh great you brought the grandkids?" and they responded "nope, just us, we haven't been in forever and missed it".

The last time we went, which was 6 years ago with the kids, we stood in line and chatted with a couple in their 70's while waiting for a ride.
They were like kids happy and even held their hands up on the ride and screamed. I would much rather be like them at that age and than a miserable old couple like many that I know at that age.

I enjoy Disney. Customer service is normally top-notch and I always appreciate that. Epcot is the best park - beers around the world and the foreign ladies serving em.

That being said Universal is a much better time overall - better rides, less crowds.

Family member "surprised" their daughter on Christmas with a Disney vacation that they were leaving for that night. The kid cried. Why? BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS GO THERE LIKE CULTISTS. The kid literally cried in front of the entire family because she was tired of going to Disney, and the parents thought her behavior was bad. No, it's that the parents are freakin obsessed with that place because of social media gloating.

Why is it in the last decade that suddenly people go to that hellhole as their only vacation destination every year and have to endlessly brag about it?

Making bank, cause they all have youtube channels with 1M subs. And they ride rides all day every day.

One loop around Epcot during the food and wine festival and I’m fat and liquored up. I love it and if don’t it’s probably because you haven’t experienced it. And if you don’t like to see your kids face light up around every corner, then I don’t know what to tell you. That said I’m not going every year.

it wouldn’t be my thing to go without kids. With that said what’s the point of vacation? To forget about the real world stress for a few days and escape. Disney world is the epitome of going to a stress free escape to the point where it’s overkill for some.

All that to say is I likely would only go with kids but I won’t knock people who do.

YES! Then get reservations at the Rose and Crown for dinner, and keep drinking right through the laser light show! Best with no kiddos.

I could say the same for people who go on cruises, but hey, if that’s what they like then they can have Disney and their cruises, it’s not my money.

Also you have to consider Disney World and especially Disney World as we know it today isn’t all that old

Millennials are probably the first generation who grew up going to Disney World on a large scale and that is why I would assume it is become more common as an adult destination. I would also assume that as the decades go on the trend will continue to an even larger extent

It somewhat like gaming. Tons of adult gamers in their 30s and early 40s now when it was not a thing a few years ago. The people who have grown up in the heyday of these things are just so happening to hit their 30s and 40s in age

Oh look it’s this thread for the nth time. Why do you care where adults spend their money for vacation?

Fwiw I am going in a few days with my kids but I have gone with just husband and eating/drinking round Epcot is awesome. The art and garden festival is amazing.

I'm 67 and have never been to Disney World. Just not interested. I do, however, love roller coasters, amusement parks and other theme parks as much as I did when I was a teenager. I also love Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium and LSU road trips. They're all a bit alike, actually.

On the other hand, I don't like hunting or wrestling, but more power to the people who do.

That would’ve been fun as hell for me and the wife when we first got together. If we could’ve afforded it
