I normally throw seafood remains in Freezer. Throw it in trash on garbage day.

Just bag it and throw it in trash can. I don’t care if my garbage can has actual garbage in it.

When we lived in Metairie in the early 70’s we had 1 old beat up aluminum trash can that the rim and lid were still perfectly round and depending on the timing between boil and trash day we either used that can exclusively for “outdoor” food waste (fish/seafood/game) or Dad would take it to his office and use a dumpster around there (he was friendly with the neighbors so whichever was getting service 1st was the destination).

If the home can simply began to smell Dad would take it empty to the office and use the steam cleaner for the tractor-trailer’s on it.

Even trashy apartment complexes have dumpsters.

This is the route I would take if just a bag or two. Who’s to say that you don’t live there and are too lazy to walk your trash to the dumpster so you put it in the trunk/truck?

I haul off crawfish heads the next morning. Dump in a canal. Shrimp shells I throw in a trash bag and put in freezer. Throw frozen heads and shells in trash on trash day

One of my neighbors has a business that has a daily trash pickup service and he told me to feel free to put my discards in one of his cans to be toted off then next morning.

At most, I'll have 2 yard size trash bags of discards after a typical boil between the shells, beer bottles, soda cans, water bottles and paper towels.

Before that, I'd do like most and find a dumpster on the side of the road at a construction site and unload. Not proud of that, but it beats waiting 3-4 days for the trash to be picked up at the curb.

Most suburbs I imagine pick up once per week.

Twice a week in this suburb.

I stick it in the trash can. You don't have to overthink this.
Yikes.
Having seafood remains rotting in the heat for multiple days is not an enjoyable site

What suburb are you in that only has once weekly trash pick up?

All of Ascension Parish is once a week unless you pay extra.( Dales, Trash Rangers, WM) .

But to the OPs point. Double bag the shite tie it up good and put it in the trash can. We rarely smell anything from our can unless we open it to put more shite in it.

Growing up, we would throw it in Bayou Lafourche.

It didn’t matter for drinking water since we are too far down stream to impact the water plant.
