How old is this guy OP? If he is under 28, most likely not. If older, I'd say almost definitely. I say that because if some guy is young, immature, and just horny that's one thing. If this guy is like 38 and still doing this after being sexually active for 20 years, yeah he has issues.

As others have alluded to he is most likely not telling you the whole story. Someone that is banging multiple girls every weekend is most likely not keeping his dick in his pants all week. He's likely going to bang some chick at the office which will jeopardize his job if he hasn't alreay.

Nah, he's a hunter.

A sex addict is a person who has to have sex many times a day, every day.

If you're thinking about it all the time, it's hurting your present relationships and interfering with your life in other ways you most likely have an issue.

But there's a big difference between a sex addict and a hunter.

Its another stupid thing our society has made up because we have to have an excuse for why we suck as people.

Anybody who has ‘sex addiction’ has some other deeper personality issue with ‘sex addicition’ as a symptom.

After this line, the thread did not turn out how I was expecting it to considering your Thread Title.

It's doubtful, but IF he's telling the truth, never leave him at your house with the wife/gf when he sends you to "go get some beer".

Two things you never lend to a buddy: Your woman, or anything with a motor. Either way, there's a good chance you get it back with a rod slung in it.

God, if that was the case I was a sex addict from puberty on. What normal male in their youth does not have sex on the mind most of the time.

So for millions of years we are decendents of the biggest horn dogs. The people who had the most sex had the most offspring. Just like only the fittest survive only the horniest reproduce.
Now we take a trait that all our ancestors have and gets amplified each generation, and call it an addiction is just dumb.

I thought this was a problem for me when my throat was tight, couldn't breath, couldn't sleep or eat. I really wanted to think I was immune to the stuff. But it's closer to the truth to say I can't get enough.

I might as well face it.

I know someone that I would say qualifies as a Sex Addict.

He's 57.Been married 2X.Has grown kids.He;s a R.N.

I get the stories from a mutual friend.

He orders 300 Viagra at a time.

He drove 4 hours to meet a Craig's List female at a motel.

Busted a nut and drove 4 hours back home.

or there are multiple types of sex addicts. And levels. I believe what you described is the worst level.

But if your top priority every night of the weekend is to find someone to sweet talk into the sack, you undoubtedly have some sort of addiction. Maybe it's an addiction to the chase, or the sex itself. I have a friend like this, and he admittedly is addicted to it. Also struggles with being faithful when he's in a relationship. He can only manage being faithful by simply not going out at all. And even then he ends up on Tinder or Bumble lots of times. It's kind of sad.

Not to mention a lot of these hunters you refer to are also the type of people to masturbate 4-5 times a day. Also know one of those guys, and he only admitted it once he was busted cheating on his fiance with multiple women.

There were also millions of years where we had to scavenge for food to survive. The more food you had, the healthier and longer you lived. Doesn’t mean food addiction isn’t a real thing.

We’ve evolved. Sex addiction probably gets thrown around too much, but it is a very real thing. If your job or life was affected because you constantly had to have sex, how would that not be considered an addiction? There is no biological need to have sex multiple times a day, every day of the week.

I tend to define sex addiction as an intimacy disorder. It's not really about the sex, but more about the objectification of people in general, with a touch of narcissism.

First, there is nothing wrong with having sex. There is nothing wrong with having a lot of sex. And, there is nothing wrong with having a lot of sex with multiple people (assuming safe sex methods are employed and it doesn't violate a moral code).

But how much is "too much"? When does it slide down that slippery slope and into an addiction? Possibly never, but when one becomes incapable of maintaining an intimate relation with another person, and can only rely on a steady diet of objectified relationships, which by definition cannot last long, well...there is a problem.
