Looking for any recs on good bars or city specific shite to do for some good ole baws (ages 34-36)
Go up to Edmunds Oast Brewing on King St. (not the one on Morrison) and get some beers and apps and chill outside. If you want an early dinner, I recommend Rancho Lewis which is right next door. It’s upscale Mexican.
After that, head down towards Container Bar. Another good outdoor spot that should have some “sights” as the night progresses. Then make your way downtown from there.
If you want to golf - tough shite. It’s hard to golf here.

Lots of rooftop bars in downtown waterfront area. Architecture is very cool there also. Lots of runners/walkers on the Ravenel Bridge all day but especially early and at sunset.
Riverdogs Single-A baseball is fun and be sure to drive around The Citadel campus(Military College of South Carolina).
Sabatino's Pizza is hole in the wall near College of Charleston. Great NY style slice. Walk around the College as it has grown into many former residences around it and has a very unique college feel.
Great beach experience at Isle of Palms or any of the beach areas. But don't expect white fluffy Destin sand.
Lots of BBQ places. Martin's, Home Team, Swig & Swine, Rodney Scott's, Bessinger's, etc. Never found a bad BBQ place there. Dave's Carry Out is open late for drunk fried food and home cooking to soak up the alcohol.
Have fun!

High Cotton for steak (prefer it over Halls, just personal preference
High Cotton is outstanding.
I enjoy the rooftop bars overlooking the harbor as well.
If I were in my 20s I’d be hanging out near College of Charleston talking to girls at the bar for sure.

The best in town are going to be Lewis and Palmira and then "everyone else".
Both are newer and might be good but Bessinger’s and Melvins are legendary.

Those two Chucktown mentions are fantastic, but they’re not SC bbq. Duke’s, Bessinger’s and Melvin’s are what we had before the Texas style bbq made its way here.
The beef cheeks at Palmira are one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Absolutely amazing. It’s a Texas / Puerto Rico / SC fusion place that is killing it.

Been there and it’s great. Haven’t been to Lewis but Im going next weekend on our way to Clemson game. But like you said, if you’re looking for SC bbq they aint it.

OMG. Palmira is so freaking good. The beef cheek, mac & cheese, and mustard cole slaw must be laced with crack. Can't stop thinking about it.

The best restaurant in Charleston County is 40 miles from downtown. TW Graham's in McClellanville.

Rooftop
Rooftop bars October - May 8th ==> awesome. Especially like the Grand Bohemian.
Rooftop bars the weekend Erin is hugging the coast.... Probably not.

Hit up Kings St and walk around. Plenty of shops, restaurants, etc....If into breweries there are several good ones. Edmunds Oast is one of our Fav's.

I prefer Texas style bbq but also love SC bbq. I was just pointing out what the best places in town were.
I don’t think OP has even been back in the thread so no clue what he’s looking for as the first post was pretty vague.

Restaurants. Food in Charleston is amazing.
I like Charleston. Great town. But it has the most overrated food reputation in America. Somebody needs to say it.

much much cleaner New Orleans.
It does have some of a NOLA look, but like said, way cleaner. They even have a section of town called the French Quarter.
My sister got married there in 2020. We stayed for about a week. Might go back soon.
