Rooftop

I enjoy the rooftop bars overlooking the harbor as well.

Rooftop bars October - May 8th ==> awesome. Especially like the Grand Bohemian.

Rooftop bars the weekend Erin is hugging the coast.... Probably not.

OMG. Palmira is so freaking good. The beef cheek, mac & cheese, and mustard cole slaw must be laced with crack. Can't stop thinking about it.

 Loving the Ray Wylie appreciation in this thread.

Just figured this might be interesting to the forum, especially given the timeline. The video makes more sense than the outline there if it peaks your interest.

It's "pique" not peak.

This house is truly awful. The kitchen island isn't to scale with the rest of the kitchen, corner fireplaces are the worst to try to arrange furniture.

I wouldn't buy it for $200,000, much less $2mm

I am sorry for your loss. It's natural to be sad after something like this. Therapy also won't hurt and I can recommend a great one in Natchitoches if you like.
Earthquakes aren't weather.

Everybody that said Monterey, CA is correct.

That's very concerning... but the bbq is good.
Only if I get to go back to Deloitte's compound near Dallas.

Where, when and how to apply? I don't have a fake email account for the OT, but guess I can make one.
I'm sick of dragging these kids down the halls of learning. Are you hiring?
There really isn't' time in the undergrad curriculum to do much excel training. I gave a managerial class a spreadsheet assignment and it nearly broke them, even after we went over all the things they needed to do in class.

However, graduate MSA programs typically have a Data Analytics and/or Advanced AIS courses. When I teach those, I always give cases that require students to use either Tableau or Alteryx.

Christine Cheng at Ole Miss (formerly at LSU) has some fantastic cases published on using these tools in accounting courses.

It is a lot of work to grade a spreadsheet assignment and students cheat, which is frustrating, especially when the smart student puts their name in the footer and the dummy who copied it doesn't remove it. You then have to report both students to the academic integrity board who might let you give both a 0 on the assignment.

I hate pivot tables and people who create them are always douches.

This is why you pull Excel into Tableau or Alteryx, either of which could also be called Pivot Tables for Dummies.

Try it, you'll like it.

Agencies have the option of using the IG's office or an external auditor. EY does a lot of government agency audits and the other Big 3 do some as well.

Not at all, it's by design

It's more a case of they bid it out separately and then whoever is the current favorite wins the bid and none of the systems talk to each other, e.g. Michelle Obama's buddy winning the contract for the new "Obamacare" website.
You are clearly uninformed about the state of the federal government agencies financial reporting systems.

The different agencies use different antiquated systems, which have been cited as specific IT material weaknesses in multiple agencies' audits for years with no remedy. The DOD has failed its annual audit numerous times (not sure they've ever passed).

It is an epic clusterf*ck.
I haven't really seen any news coverage. The water is going down some, so residents are able to find spots with a bar of cell service and videos of the area are coming out on social media.

We have a cabin near the Mt. Mitchell golf course that can't be reached by the neighbor just down the road about 1/4 because electric lines are in the way. He can't go further down the mountain because the road is washed out and water is still up, but was able to see houses along the S. Toe River were severely damaged/destroyed and a mudslide. The people in the mudslide area can't get out because the bridge is destroyed and the road is washed out on the other side. Other neighborhoods around the course have mudslides over the road.

None of my neighbors can get in touch with all the folks across the highway.

Now, multiply that times all the little side roads and campgrounds and rivers and it is overwhelming.

Nobody has potable water or electricity and no help is coming for a while because it is literally impossible to get there. It isn't a small area, either. It is like Katrina and the 2016 floods spawned and had a nightmare weather event across 4 states..
Starlink is working for people with generators. But people are running out of gas for their gennys.

The destruction is beyond belief and horrifying.
I texted with a friend in Little Switzerland (behind the Inn) yesterday morning and she said trees and powerlines were down. Lots of roads in that area closed for many reasons. Cell service practically nonexistant.
We're also driving up from Charleston Saturday morning. Was able to get a parking pass.
