I bet you still have the default ringtone and notification sounds because even changing that would be too difficult for you.

There's a difference between trend and fad. Fads last much longer. A decade isn't an outlier.

Superior products aren't fads.

Macs are the superior personal, home machine, especially if you have a ton of Apple products that sync with it. Great for light use and fun personal projects.
Would the same justification apply under a similar but different scenario:
I drove by a Gluten-free Vegan restaurant and noticed every vehicle in the parking lot was of German origin.
Superior quality vehicles align with healthy eating habits?

What does that have to do with his statement?
Posted on 4/25/19 at 4:54 pm to Kujo
If you work in graphics design or do a lot of music related stuff on your laptop (recording, editing, etc.) the Mac products are probably really good choices and a lot of what you see.
If it's most other businesses, particularly financial or engineering related, they are usually not the best choice.
Which group is better represented hanging out at any given starbucks, I wonder?

he's claiming Macs are better, fine. German cars are better, whatever. Why do coffee shop loiterers prefer Macs, and in the other example, why does the vegan place draw german cars?
He's justifying/rationalizing a mac purchase, without speaking to the motivations of the coffee culture to have one. (the subject of the OP)

Apple hater here.
I've been using computers since 1988. Used to have to execute every command with DOS prompt.
I've owned Apple products. Theyre shite.
The OP's question has already been answered a few times. People who buy Apple products either buy them as a status symbol or because they think they're easier to use because Apple has distilled everything down to keep you in your lane.
Most people who are heavy into computing, work in IT or are strict utilitarians who don't need to prop and preen in public like a fricking peacock, use Windows and Android based technology.
The only thing Apple ever got right were iPods. The first generation Apple TV was done right, so they promptly destroyed it.
Their shite is overpriced and incompatible. They also have a strict business model of planned obsolescence. So much so that they purposely render older devices dysfunctional.
I don't own a laptop. I own a desktop like a normal fricking person. Full size keyboard and monitor with a trackball mouse. I build my own computers, from the motherboard up, mostly out of Newegg. I run Windows 7 Ultimate and I will cling to that mother fricker just like I clinged to Windows XP. My phone is an android-based Sony.
Like just about every thing else, commercial and industrial grade products are the best. Use what the professionals and businesses use. The best computers are windows-based desktops, the best phones are Motorolas. This is always been the case.

Not triggered, it's just the truth.
Why are you laughing, because I use a desktop? Do you somehow think your phone or laptop is more functional than my desktop? The only thing a phone or laptop has over a desktop is mobility. The only time I ever need to be on the computer away from my house is if I'm looking up a phone number or need to quickly price compare a product in a store. I can do both those things on my phone.

I have a desktop.
Custom built for work and play. Sitting on a custom desk. And me nor the wife want or need a laptop. We have phones and tablets, it’s 2019.
And the answer to your next question: work provides me a laptop and a cellphone.
