What do the love of coffee shops and MacBooks have in common?

Seems every time I walk into a coffee shop, I see at least 3-10 people there with Laptops. No big deal, until I noticed that almost every single one is a MacBook.
I checked the numbers and MacBooks are at best 9% of the laptop market. So there is some type of unifying trend between coffee house loitering and MacBook ownership.
What are your hypothesis regarding the phenomenon?

Macs are the superior personal, home machine, especially if you have a ton of Apple products that sync with it. Great for light use and fun personal projects.
For business purposes, they don't hold a candle to Windows. We have both for this reason.

I find it hard to believe that only 9% of personally purchased laptops are MacBooks. I would believe that stat for business use laptops, though. Depends on if the folks in coffee shops are working or freelance or what.

Depends on the industry, but in general, this is true.
We have apple products for our personal use. I have Windows and an iMac for work.

I run Windows on my mac with Parallels. So I get the great form factor plus the tight integration with all of my apple products. Plus use Windows for work.

Because Mac may only make up 9% of the market, but if you remove computers used by businesses/for business purposes, I bet that number goes way up.
The only people I know that use PCs are people that were given a laptop for work. And even then they usually have a personal laptop that is a Mac.
