Don't Judge me!!!! I met her on Yahoo Personals. Then after hitting it a couple times, she told me her job. I just happened to need a dog spayed. She hooked me up in a trade for a hotel room and cooch lickin. She wanted the hotel room all night so she could bone her OTHER side dude behind her Hubby's back.

About 5-6 miles and 10-12 minutes or so.

Downtown McKinney is actually pretty sweet.

McKinney has a little more charm than Plano or Frisco or Allen. East of 75 is lovely going into downtown. Some beautiful old houses along Virginia and Louisiana streets.

When I did my research 3 years ago when we moved here, while you really can't argue too much against either, Frisco seemed to always grade out a tad higher than McKinney.

It is hard explaining how great education opportunities are here to people outside of Texas.

#6 Allen
#8 Lovejoy
#9 Frisco
#10 Plano
#11 Prosper
#31 McKinney (Even at 31, it is A+ rated)

There are 1032 school districts in Texas.

When I researched 3 years ago, I remembered #9 and #37, but essentially exactly the same.

That's why I was interested to hear that guy's thoughts.

Many have tried to explain it on this board but falls on deaf ears.

I think overall its because TX is ranked in the mid 30's for overall education so people think meh! But there are many border towns and schools are horrendous along with the many rural towns in expansive TX. There are some amazing schools and ISDs in the suburbs of Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, etc..

True. Texas has 3 school districts ranked in the top 10 for the nation. That is the most with NY, OH and PA each having 2 and IN with 1.

Allen is the highest ranked in Collin County at 53. There are over 13,500 school districts in the USA.

A lot of that is because of the layout, having over big high school. Eastside McKinney schools bring down those numbers. I'd venture to say if you only took into account Westside schools it would be much higher. Frisco and Prosper being newer developments has a benefit as well.

I heard a former LSU football player pastors Anchor Church. He’s solid. McKinney is an awesome city.

Left DFW last year.

To me, anything north of North Dallas is a bland, cultural vaccuum.

If you live on the west side you can live and Mckinney but be in Frisco ISD.
Both my daughter and my youngest son bought new builds in McKinney near Coit and Virginia. They are in the Prosper school district. One of our grandchildren has some problems. We are more than impressed about what the school system is doing to help.

Culture in Dallas proper is not a positive.

Collin County is a dry county but a ten minute drive to the nearest alcohol.

Don't think this is correct. I'm pretty sure Total Wine near HWY 121 and Preston is in Collin County and it has a nice selection and good prices.

I base it on the age of the poster’s kid, admission policies for state universities in Texas, and the changing demographics. My kids will have way more options if they finish in the top 10% of a very good high school instead of the top 30% of an excellent high school.

The OP’s kid is 4 so, realistically, they will move before high school. If someone gave me the choice today on where I’d want my high schooler to go to school, Frisco would still be a good choice.
