For decades this was a K-mart brand. What happened a few years ago that elevated it to a popular brand?

Champion had a wal mart line but for years made quality athletic gear. They had a run in the 90’s as the nba’s official line brand.

These official practice shirts were some of the best quality tshirts I wore in the 90’s

On Cloud and Hoka running shoes, OT classics.

Apparently On Cloud running shoes fall apart with less than a year of wearing them.

Under Armour’s tech tee used to have the best fit and quality. I still have several shirts that I bought from 2012-2014 that still look and fit great. A few years ago they changed them and the shirts are made of thinner material and the fit is beyond inconsistent.

Nike dri-fit material changes a lot year-to-year. Sometimes, you get really light, dry-wicking material and others it's like a plastic bag that doesn't work at all.

Champion may be a cheaper Target brand now (some of the C9 items are a good deal), but they and Russell Athletic were higher end and making all of the college stuff in the '80's and some of the '90's.

I still like the cut of UA golf shirts, even if they are frat trashy.

I just cannot bring myself, as a grown man, to purchase clothes from a brand called lululemon. They may be amazing, but I just can't do it.

Academy has a new line (new to me at least), R.O.W. it is cheap and fits my kids really well. Kind of a knock off of the higher end stuff it seems.

Good question OP. This is an example of different peoples collective experience being helpful.

Went to an outlet mall this weekend which we never do. Bought two Columbia lightweight jackets and some half price cold weather boots. Based this on a columbia coat I purchased years ago on clearance that is warm af and has held up well.
