Before the time change, I’d get a round of golf in, work in the yard, etc. if not that, I’d go to the gym, go for a run, or some form of exercise.

Now that the time has changed, and I’m battling an injury that keeps me from doing the latter, it raises the question...what does the common man do with all his afternoon time? I feel like the last couple weeks, I just go home and sit in front of the TV for hours and go to bed. I’m starting to feel pretty damn worthless.

Let’s say you get home from work around 4-5ish. If you go to bed around 10 that’s 5+ hours of time that could be used for something productive. Maybe I’m just in a rut, but any suggestions on how to pass the time better than sitting in front of a TV?

What does the OT do with their time?

I usually start dinner and then veg out until I fall into a food-induced coma until 3:00am and surf the OT until I fall asleep five minutes before I need to wake up.

Cook dinner and eat with the family. Watch football Monday and Thursday. Play cards with the kids. Read a book.

I weld and wood work in the evening in the garage.

Last week was fence replacement week. 55 freaking panels and pulled about 20 of the posts cause the dipshit before me decided to set posts and hang untreated panels on the freshly set posts and had a windstorm that night.

This week I'm working on a new workbench for the garage with a little more order to storage and what not.

Came in at 4 this morning and I'm hitting a round of golf at 200 this afternoon so there is that.

I find myself laying down for bed in the 800 hour some nights out of boredom.

4-530: Workout
530-630: Cook dinner & Eat
630-730: try to get some cleaning or chores done.
730-9: Watch tv w/ gf or play xbox.
9-10: Read.

Do this pretty close to everyday unless I got something else going on like grabbing drinks with friends.

You obviously dont have kids.

My post work days:

-Help kids with homework
-Bring kids to extra curriculars
-Prepare or pick up dinner for kids
-Make sure kids bathe up and get ready for bed
-Once kids are asleep, dishes and any computer work i didnt finish during the day.
-Get out kid clothes for next day.
-Pack lunches for the next day.

I get off at 2:30 - 3:00 pm daily

Home gym for weight workout while watching Dr Phil, Judge Judy and then PTI.
Then go for a two mile walk with my dog rocky

I have a 12 yr old who plays a lot of sports so we are always back and forth to different practices/games.

Cook dinner

Bed by 9 pm if I'm lucky

Depends on the weather and my mood.

A good pipe and pipe tobacco or some weed or some beer or some whiskey.
