It doesn't affect me if other people do or do not have kids, so I don't think much of it if I meet a couple who has chosen not to. Whenever we want to take a trip with friends, I always call my kid-less friends first, so that is a plus for them.

To me life is no fun without having my kids to share it with.

Couldn't this be true either way?

My wife and I both have 2 full siblings. We are in Idaho, my sister is in Texas, and her sister is in Lake Charles. We see her dad and my mom once a year. Both our parents see the other siblings a few times a year, but they still don't have daily contact.

Having kids can be a pain but you can’t watch Christmas Vacation and say you’d rather be Elaine than Clark.

One of the following is usually the case:

1. Fertility issues that they’re not telling you about
2. They think they don’t want kids
3. They’re flaming liberals who are “career first” assholes who have no joy in life

I’m 34. No kids. Maybe some on the horizon, but let me tell you I’ve been plenty happy so far without them.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having kids. I think it’s great. It’s those who are sanctimonious about having them that tend to suck as human beings.

Jealous of their free time and disposable income.

Kind of feel sorry for them that they will never feel the intensity of love that is a parent/child relationship.

As most have said, I'm a smidge envious of folks without children, considering all the free time and extra cash they must have.

Still, I love my children and wouldn't trade them for the world. Being a parent tends to mean experiencing every emotion there is on grand scale at least once, every day. I'm also comforted to know that a part of me will go on in this world long after I'm gone.

It's nothing short of amazing to see what kind of person comes from you and your significant other melding together, so to speak. Picking out their personality traits and tracing them back to one another can be a real laugh.

One of my wilder fraternity brothers and his wife do not have kids. No idea if by choice or not. I would check his FB from time to time to see dazzling pics of them traveling all over the world. Sometimes I would make a brief “that’s awesome” or “so jealous” type comment but mostly I just looked at how cool the sights were. I finally stopped checking it.
Too jealous.

They're all weird cat people. Probably because just about all of the 30/40ish couples I know without kids actually are weird cat people. Oh, and they all have hybrids. I guess we're all going to have one of those sooner or later though.

one of my best friends, we've known each other since about 5 years old, has never had kids, she's a multi millionaire whose husband died about three years ago, she's lonely now but doesn't regret not having kids, still works but travels/recreates constantly, only lament she's shared with me is not having anyone to leave her wealth to and that she won't be able to spend it all before she croaks

I don't have any thoughts about them. Why does it matter?

Depends on their reasons:

1) if they cant have kids I feel bad for them.

2) If they don't have them for career reasons, I understand their stance but think its shortsighted and misguided.

3) If they don't have them because they don't want to be tied down then I assume they are a selfish person. That doesn't mean I hate them or anything but these people usually do what benefits them no matter who it screws over.

...And then I get home and my 4 year old has "accidentally" spilled everything in the pantry on the floor and my 1 year old is drawing on the walls and I look at the childless with envy.

Makes me chuckle when they talk about how the world is going to shite when they haven’t done the most basic human thing they could do to change it - procreate.

I think that they're smart, deserve thanks for not contributing to overpopulation, and that they shouldn't be penalized on their taxes for not bringing dependents into the world.

I know some and have no thoughts concerning them.

I mind my own business and you should too.

I’d counter that too many stupid people procreating is a much larger problem
