What are your thoughts on people who never have children?

Seems like most people on this board have kids.

Curious to get people's thoughts when they come across people in their late 30s or early 40s without kids.

Occasionally jealous

Sometimes contempt

Mostly however I think it’s sad

I respect their position. I'm jealous of the free time and money. I'm sad they don't experience the love of a parent for a child.

my original plan was to not have kids and that was the agreement with the first wife, she changed her mind and I was badgered into it, I would have been happy with the original plan but I'm a good dad and have done my duties

For some it might be a smart decision. But you better know for sure that you wont have one ounce of regret in the future.

I would rather them not have kids if they are not 100% committed to the time and effort to raise them properly.

I could see this. I often have dreams where I have a child and the love for the child is really something else, even in the dream. I tell my wife about it sometimes and I can't really explain the feeling. I can only imagine that would be stronger in real life.

However raising a child seems like an absolute job. We are leaning towards no right now.

not everyone wants kids baw. Some people like to wake up at 8:30 AM on Saturday, roll over a rub one out, take a fat shite, drink some beer and watch football without having to worry about kids fricking with me for the next 14 years.

Sometimes they can't medically. Sometimes they don't by choice. I miss the freedom of being able to do things on a whim without kids. It's generally cancelled out when I look back and remember how much joy my children give me. To each their own and adults can do as they wish. If you don't want kids then no sense in having them just to do it.
