Yeah? Then he needs to take this opportunity to teach his boy about how the world works. The Oakleys are probably Fauxkleys anyway. He should take his boy to all the goodwill stores around and help him buy all the things that his mom and her chump arse BF would buy.
Then sell it to his mom and BF at a profit.
If you aren’t gonna play the game then don’t complain.

good for them. this is no different than a developer buying a shite house, polishing a turd and then flipping it for a huge profit.

Nah, he's a good kid. I have him on the straight and narrow. He's all into racing dirt bikes and he knows with any little slip up, the bike gets parked. He doesn't take after his mom at all, he want's to be just like me.

If it's legal and they can make money, then IDGAF.

What are your thoughts on people who buy things from Goodwill and sell them for a profit?

I say buying and selling from goodwill is fair game, her BF is trashy for making money off your son.

That’s the ultimate revenge

Are you aware of what the CEO of Goodwill earns?
They have different CEO's. The CEO of Goodwill-Southern California has a total compensation package of about $1.2 million. Their national CEO is about $800k.
Smells funny, doesn't it?

For a very short time (like 3 months) I attempted this because an old co-worker of mine told me about shopgoodwill.com. At least at the website, you can actually find some decent stuff. I made a little bit of money but it was a lot of work for that amount. At the time, I was willing to put the effort in because I needed some way to supplement my income. Now, it is not worth my time.

What were you bringing in an hour, if you had to guess?

I wasn't buying a lot, only about $500 in "inventory" at a time. Some things sold really fast like a vintage camera and designer sunglasses. Other things like an expensive globe or a porcelain doll took months to sell. I was doing it on the side so I never really tracked my time spent but I probably made ~$100 a week. Again, I was not buying a lot and did not have very much money so I could not afford some items that could be flipped for more.
Basically, shopgoodwill.com is an auction so you have to still be careful to buy it at a price you can still make a profit. Certain things go for the same price you will sell it for on the internet. Most of what is bought you can then find for re-sale on ebay. I found most of my success using facebook marketplace, craigslist and OfferUp. Biggest thing is researching an item, checking what it has sold previously on sites like ebay to determine a price you are willing to pay for the item.

This whole story sounds poor and trashy.
