I don't think he is sure...he has been pulling everything else out of his arse.

He posted the fricking house from "Friday" trying to make a point.

California was a great state from the end of WW2 through the 1980s. It was where the rest of America imagined they could go to fulfill the American dream. But California is in decline. Sure, it will always have great weather and a diverse outdoors, but it no longer is our nation's shining beacon.

That’s on a .20 acre lot.

Your examples are on acreage and bigger.

And you conveniently left off how far away it is.

Sounds about right. Won’t post a link to these houses but let’s just go ahead and take him at his word.

Oh no, I believed you that a shitty place in LA is expensive. Because I’m not an idiot. As I said, you get what you pay for. And in this instance, you’re paying for location.

I’m curious exactly where this large home in Texas is.

From your link

quote:

Note: This property is not currently for sale or for rent. The description below may be from a previous listing.

quote:

DATE EVENT PRICE
05/17/18 Listing removed $479,900
04/16/18 Price change $479,900
03/05/18 Listed for sale $489,900
02/21/12 Sold $190,000

So it was listed and never sold for that price.

Yeah, I think that was obvious. No one is surprised by high prices in LA and SF.

Yep. Like pride posted earlier:

quote:

From 2010-2017 CA gained 6.13% in population

Louisiana gained 3.33% in population

Louisiana was 1 of only 8 states that had a population decrease in 2017

And that's a bad investment.

Unless you have a job where you're making insanely high six figures, maybe even seven, you should always choose comfort over location and that's a much better investment not just financially for cost of living but for your own personal happiness.

I'll take good sized houses in the suburbs of Houston and Atlanta over shitty apartments and hoodrat houses in California metro.

Well the place you linked didn’t sell this year, but it went from being sold in 2012 for 190k to being listed for $480k only six years later.

Pretty solid investment in my opinion.

Also, I noticed you glossed over the part where I asked you to provide a link to that house in Texas. It would be good to know where it’s actually located for comparison purposes.

I found this one on a listings page for Trophy Club, TX.

LINK
I can't find its actual listing (probably sold) but similar homes in the area are $1.5MM-$2MM. Just a wee north of his half a million claim.

eta- after looking further it's probably closer to $900k-$1MM, but still significantly more than he claimed.
