People including me who do will have more money saved up for retirement thanks to that and enable us to have a shite ton of more fun in our fifties and sixties like traveling the world and maybe even living in season in California.
Right. Because you keep pretending like everyone out here is unable to pay for anything more than bills. I wouldn't live out here if I wasn't making enough to do normal things like take vacations, do the things I like to do, and save for retirement.

Yes, we envy paying them living in 1000 sq/ft houses that cost upwards of a million dollars, driving for an hour in traffic to go 10 miles to work, paying a dollar more per gallon of gas as any other state, being taxed at about 70 cents for every dollar you make, and having to learn Spanish if want to order food.
I would take that deal in a second to live in California, only thing stopping me is wife not wanting to move away from family.

So Detroit is the ideal city in this hypothetical?
Uh crime is always a factor here. And it's too fricking cold too making heating more expensive.
It's one significant reason why BR and New Orleans is losing population more compared to the rest of the state.
But this thread isn't about the North either.

I never said that. You're putting words in my mouth.

There's no difference between "normal things" and paying the bills.
If it costs money, it's a bill.
When I say bills, I mean bills and all the costs associated with whatever you're doing and yes taking vacations, doing things you like to do is considered a bill to me as well and saving for retirement is a bill to me as well because that's more money out of the paycheck.

Me
So first you lied about the price of McMansions in the Dallas suburbs and now this? How far down this rabbit hole of deceit are you going to go?
I don't appreciate your ruse, ma'am.

Sad to see you're too dense to understand that. You should get that fixed.

Did you reply to the wrong post? That has nothing to do with what I posted but I notice you're studiously ignoring all the posts about your dishonest home price examples.

What about those of us who make far more in California than we made in the south? I make 5 times what I made in Bham Alabama and my house here in an affluent suburb cost the same as living in a nice area back home.

"A bill is a bill" or some shite like that. He doesn't realize that we aren't all as enamored with the idea of being the upper crust of Bawcomville as he is.

No.

That's nothing more than a semantics game.
Not gonna get sucked into that because y'all aren't even bothering to deny the mere fact that you can get a bigger and more comfortable house along with a cheaper cost of living in the suburbs of southern cities as opposed to shitty apartments and grungy and pedestrian small houses in California metro.

Well then that's obviously a market and location specific job that can't be found anywhere else and I say good for you.
Some industries are like that.
But it's not like that for everyone else.

Pointing out that the house you claimed is $500k is probably closer to $1MM is a semantics game?
Just stop. You're the one that used the example. You can't claim it's just semantics when the entire point of your post is shown to be bullshite.

Here's what you consider a troll.
Someone who is not star struck with the idea of living in shitty apartments with a shitty cost of living while making very good money.

An idiot who makes a dumb claim, refuses to provide proof, then calls it a semantics game when called out on it.
And now uses extreme examples of two cities in order to paint one as a dump and one as heaven.
