Overated: Atlanta or Houston.
Houston is a great city to make a living. Beyond that, I don't hear many people talking it up as a great place to live.

Plenty that are appropriately disliked, or liked, these are outliers.
Overrated:
Denver
Las Vegas
Orlando
Underrated:
Boston - so much to do and the people are colorful
New Orleans - dirty, but the best dinning city in the entire world
Chicago - bad politics but great town
Charleston, SC - I don’t think locals want people to know how great it is
Boise - perfect size, clean, safe

It’s well behind NYC

Charleston is great, but it’s the next Nashville. The cat is out of the bag. It’s also geographically fricked for handling the expansion it’s seen.

There are 4 cities in America:
NY
Chicago
New Orleans
San Francisco.
The actually quote is-
"America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.”

Overrated: Phoenix. Hot, flat, and no personality. I do like visiting there, just kinda meh.
Underrated: Seattle. Comfortable, mountains surrounding the city, clean beautiful water, and some of the nicest strangers you'll meet.

I’ve been to NYC probably 100 times when living in NE. My friend is a NY restaurateur. I completely disagree with food being better than New Orleans; unless we are talking about bagels, pizza, or $300/person pretentious restaurants.

Yeah, just reading this board, you'd never guess SF, NYC, LA and New Orleans are 4 of the more enjoyed tourist cities in the world.
Most of the guys on this board haven't left Prairieville, Geismer, Denham Springs, Walker, Broussard, or Youngsville for anything other than work. I'd take their opinion with a grain of salt, they probably just formed their opinion by watching a Fox News segment on Facebook.

Yeah I added Chicago (because I love it)

Louisville, KY is underrated.
The whole downtown is walkable and runs along the river.
Nice minor league ball park on one end.
4th Street is like a mini Beale St.
Fraser Arms Museum. Louisville Slugger factory and museum.

NYC is the most global city is possibly the world, but certainly the US. New Orleans doesn’t have near the diversity in spices, proteins, or people. There’s literally nothing you can’t find in NY. New York has about 8-10 times the restaurants of New Orleans which means the competitiveness is much higher. The street food scene is also much larger in New York. New Orleans has original food, but NYC has original food from every corner of the world.
Also, when you look at what New Orleans does well, other than creole, NYC does it better. Much better Italian, bakeries, steakhouses, seafood, sandwiches in NYC.

Or people travel to these big cities and never reailze the dysfunction crawling underneath.
LA is a shithole, unless you live in the burbs or hills.

Nashville has to be at the top of most overrated city. Nothing but bars, over-priced, mediocre food and homeless camps and liberals.
Tennessee, however, is near the top of the most underrated state list.

And this overgeneralization is why people that look up to Rachel Maddow and Rashida Tlaib have mental disorders far exceeding the retarded rednecks they so despise.

Oklahoma City
I don’t know how you can put OKC as underrated. I spent a week there and it was miserable. Nothing to do and the food was very underwhelming. Downtown area was dead, and this was during the finals (while OKC was playing in Indiana)
Underrated- Savanah, GA
Overrated- Asheville, NC
