Way to take away from a nice accomplishment. Too bad you couldn't name drop something that deserves notoriety or was an actual technical climb.

I think what you are asking is what is the most prominent summit.

All of the US would be Denali with over 20,000ft of prominence, without Alaska it would be Mauna Kea in Hawaii with almost 14,000ft of prominence and in the lower 48 it would be Ranier with about 13,300 ft of prominence which has more prominence than K2.

The top three in the world are Everest, Aconcagua and Denali.

ETA a bit of trivia, the mountain with the peak farthest from the center of the earth is Chimborazo.

The largest vertical expression in North America is Mount Siyeh here in MT. It's north face is a 4,200 drop. I climb it every year to check out the summit crown grizzlies.

Mt Hood is pretty big.

But yeah, Rainier is insane. Heading south out of Seattle it looks like you’re right on top of it but it seems like you drive for an hour and don’t get any closer.

Pike’s Peak is one. One of the more famous ones at that.

Has serious prominence.

The loop trail on Hood (timberline trail) is 41 miles long. The loop on Rainier (wonderland trail) is 93 miles. That gives a better idea on its massiveness.

Adams is just a 1k' higher than Hood but is a beast in its own right compared to Hood. As well is Baker. The majors are big in Washington.

Mt Whitney in California

After Ranier I think this is #2. The Owens Valley is around 3,700 feet altitude and Whitney is 14,495. There is actually a hike from the lowest point in the continental US at Death Valley (-280 feet) to the top of Mt. Whitney (the highest). It's 135 miles, though, and there is a mountain range in between. Whitney would win if it were actually next to Death Valley.

Lone Pine, CA is ~3,700' and Mount Whitney in ~14,500'. You can drive to Whitney Portal (~8,600'), but from Hwy 395 the Sierras look like they go straight up.

I have heard they have so called mountains on the sea floor of the pacific that would put Everest to shame.
