On one of the old OU message boards, a poster (in all seriousness) said “it just donged on me” instead of “it just dawned on me.” I’ve stolen his phrase and incorporated into my lexicon.

When people type “could of” or “should of” rather than could have or should’ve etc.

There is no situation where the “of” makes any sense at all.
