Workout in the mornings.
After supper, have a glass of red wine. Read a little bit.
Darkass room. Fan on high.
Count down from 1000.
Alternate weeks of melatonin, valerian and a warm water magnesium drink.
This seems like good advice

Exercise
Force yourself to get up earlier in the morning. That will make you sleepy earlier at night.
Also, avoid watching action movies at night or doing anything that will get your juices flowing. avoid reading the political board.
If you drink regular tea after lunch, stop.

You don't need a prescription for carbon monoxide.

Lay in bed, lights and TV off
Close your eyes
Take several deep breaths through your nose and out through your mouth with your tongue pushed to the roof of your mouth.
Repeat until out.
Disclaimer, I do this after taking melatonin, so results may vary.

This thread cracks me up.
Some of these responses (especially the "guide" of how to sleep) is prime example of how times have changed.

Look up some yoga nidra recordings. It's not stretching, it's only the part at the end of a yoga class where they talk you down into relaxation. Helps me fall asleep every time
