For me it was 64. Really no super obvious symptoms, Maybe peeing a little more often and not being able to perform like I did from my teens through my 50's. Then kind of the perfect storm hit. About a year prior to the Great California Covid Shut Down, when my GP took a sabatical.

She had been a stickler about having my PSA checked every year since I turned 45. My last PSA test with her was 0.2. The slap-dick who took over her practice while she was out never once set me up for a blood test. In early 2023 she returns and orders up a PSA test. Boom, it was 11.4. Biopsies were taken and my Gleason score was 8. I opted for the 26 rounds of external radiation. My PSA got down to 0.6 and now has bounced to 1.1, which my oncologyst told me is acceptable, but my blood tests will go back to every 3 months to monitor it.

I am 100% convinced that “prostratitis” without a concerning PSA test is usually pelvic floor muscle issues. For younger guys, it’s overly tight muscles, for older guys, it’s weak muscles.

My strong opinion is that this is a major driver of ED and urinary flow issues, but the male pelvic floor barely gets any love

Only thing I will add here is that a lot of things can artificially lower PSA. It doesn't mean it has resolved your high PSA issue, it just covers it up. Don't take anything for the purpose of lowering your PSA. If you do you could easily be covering up signs of worse and worse cancer.

Do you have any advice for those with tight pelvic floor?

63 1/2 now, no problems with anything so far.

Might have to wake up once a night to piss, if I don't drink anything after 7:00 pm, usually I can sleep all night.

Can drive at least 6 hours without stopping to piss.

I usually go piss when I have to stop for gas if I'm driving over that long straight-thru.

I'm on no meds.

I'm blessed I know.

My PSA is good, not much movement over the past five years.

Very un-scientifically I can say that it happens earlier to heavy drinkers.

There are several really good online programs that are totally worth the $.

Self myofascial release of lower abs, stretching, breathing better, and managing stress.

Sounds more like your co-worker may be dealing with kidney stone issues.

I've had enough of them to know the symptoms first hand. Just before you wind up passing a stone it feels like you have to constantly pee like a proverbial racehorse and the best you can usually do is squeeze off a few drops at a time-----but once that stone is passed you can flow like a fire hose.

I've known a Urologist well for about 25 years.

I call him "Marfan" as a private joke.

“Not gonna lie….what a prostate problem entails”

Entails entrails malfunctioning where your stream trails off and you especially have the urge when lying down.

I can't remember what age I was, but it was around the same time a coach from State College started taking me on family trips.

I'm 76. I had no problem until 4 years ago. It wasn't too bad. Just some aggravating stopping and starting. 2 years ago my Dr. did a urolift. Now I piss like I did when I was 25.

Tell old push, strain and grunt to google it.
