Rides in the left lane going 80: check
Drives F350: check

Must be from Texas

That just means you had plenty of time to get over, but you chose not to. You have no justification for being mad

I know, and I move over unless I'm passing someone.

I'm talking about that guy that comes within a foot of your bumper and within a foot of the bumper of the car in the right lane. The slightest miss timing would cause a wreck. And then as soon as he passes you he's just stuck right there in front of you behind the other car in the line...not going any faster than if he'd stayed behind you.

Another pet peeve of mine, driving without your lights on in rainy weather. People think just because they have their "safety" lights on on the front of the car that doesn't help one damn bit for someone coming up on your rear. I did a lot on interstate driving to work. Get behind an 18 wheeler throwing out all that damn mist and then pass him only to find a car 10-15 feet ahead of you without tail lights on once you clear the mist.

It's one of those "a-hole choking your neck" moments.

You probably wouldn't have gotten over because the person in front of you didn't get over. That's what causes problems. You had room to get over, but you didn't. You can't justify getting mad about that to me

So even though there is someone in front of him, he should get over behind the 18 wheeler and have to slam on his brakes because you are tailgating him?

Quit being obtuse.

Someone was trying to pass him, and he obviously had room to get over. His fault he got passed.

No doubt he would've just sat behind the car in front of him until they got over. I can assume that, because it happens 99% of the time. He's just one less car for the "a-hole" to pass

I agree. If you're in the left lane and some" "a-hole" is approaching from the rear, get over and let him pass. If you are passing and unable to get over, speed up and help the a-hole out. It would make everything much easier and smoother.

And, if you're camped out in the left lane, I'm gonna flash my brights all day at you. Passing in the right lane is dangerous. I hate when left lane drivers make me do that.

And then complain about dangerous drivers swerving through traffic. Completely oblivious

The other day I was going about 80 and was overtaking the person in the right hand lane and was waiting to safely pass, but of course the guy behind me in a big arse truck comes rolling up going 90 and expected me to immediately get out of his way, so he starts honking and flashing lights and swerving until I got over when it was safe to do so.

I say you're in the wrong. If you find yourself in this situation, then it's taking you too long to pass and you shouldn't have attempted it. You were unaware that you were going to impede another driver, that's on you. Check your mirrors for other vehicles approaching, be aware of your surroundings.

Saying the other guy was going 90 doesn't make what you did any better. It's not your job to police other drivers.

But according to this thread and the law, the left lane is for those passing other drivers and it doesn't matter if you are impeding others.

Three pages into a thread about the law, and you still haven't read the law?
quote:

Upon all multilane highways, no vehicle shall be driven in the left-hand lane except when directed otherwise, preparing for a left turn at an intersection or private road or driveway, overtaking or passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, or when right-hand lanes are congested; however, no vehicle being driven in the left lane except when directed otherwise or preparing for a left turn at an intersection, private road, or driveway shall impede any other vehicle that is traveling in the same lane and behind that vehicle.

About the same % as know/care about the speed limit.

Hey man, the sign just says "speed limit". It doesn't say whether it's an upper or lower limit.

Here are some related variants of the theme that drive me nuts as well: the guy on the 3-lane interstate who is driving all the way left and slower than traffic - Hey Buddy, you're AT LEAST one lane too far to the left. The guy who comes barrelling behind you in the left lane when you are passing and you are nice enough to get over and let him blow by...who then goes on to go much slower than he was going when he bore down on you, thus impeding you! The guy whose speed varies so much, that he forces YOU to keep passing him and/or letting him pass. I drive with cruise control almost 100% of the time on the interstate, so I know it isn't my fault!

People would quickly realize it and give a damn if they started getting pulled over for it. Especially those damned semis and their rolling roadblocks.

You can only pass as fast as the person in front of you goes. I like my safe gap between me and the next car in front. That situation hasn't happened to me in a while though. Now I just like to lead those assholes on and wait until the last second....then speed up just a little and close the gap so they have to slam their breaks instead of me slamming mine when they cut me off. Let's just call this out assholing the a-hole....it's a fun game to play.

People that read one comment on a thread and make a comment without the entire context of the thread are bigger idiots.

For your understanding, its not really playing a game, just fricking with an a-hole which I know the OT loves to do.
