I will say that I thought they were guilty for a long time. One things that supports their lack of guilt is their lack of recidivism. Human nature is such that you commit that type of crime for one of two reasons: 1) hate that turns into gage ; 2) true predatory behavior. Regardless, both will repeat the behavior bc they cat control the rage or urge to predate or a weaker victim. Here , NONE of the three have committed any know subsequent acts of a violent nature. They are either an extreme anomaly or innocent.
Very good point. I believe Echols has written a book or two. Studies crystals, healing thru magick, mysticism, or the like. No run-ins with the law.
Baldwin has founded/helped out with innocence projects for other alleged wrongfully convicted people. No run-ins with the law.
Misskelley does construction and generally keeps the lowest of profiles by staying close to family. He did get pulled over for driving without a license, I believe, but nothing came of it.
They don't seem like people who have had problems with discipline or failure to control urges since being released.

I only watched the first documentary of Paradise Lost and right away, I said not guilty. They literally had zero evidence it was those 3 teens.

Interrogate a mentally disabled guy long enough, you’ll find inconsistencies in his story. Come back a few time over the next few hours to “clear up” problems with his story until you get him saying the “right” thing. Let him know that once we get his side all cleared up, he can go. Get it all on tape and you’ve got a confession. Unconstitutional and shouldn’t stand in court.

I liked the part in the doc when I think it was Damien’s relatives were asked about Damien wearing black clothing as a sign of satanism. The relative’s response: Johnny Cash wears black too.

When celebrities started coming out supporting the 3 convicted, that’s when I started thinking they are probably guilty.

Mr. Bojangles
That guy always had me the most curious. Incompetent police work of course. I watched Paradise Lost on HBO the night they aired and still think it's one of the best docs I've seen. Admittedly, I was a little suspicious of the 3 but I became way more suspicious of the nutty step dad. And of course Bojangles. All to say, those poor kids were tortured and murdered and 3 other kids had their lives destroyed and the killer walks/walked free. Infuriating.

I don't see how anyone could possibly convict based on the actual evidence presented. There was literally almost nothing there other than the fact that they wore black, dabbled in wicca, and listened to Metallica. Even if they actually did commit the acts, the case was still so poor against them that they still should not have been convicted by any reasonable jury that was not influenced by Satanic panic. And that's not even considering a clearly false confession and the judicial misconduct that went on in this trial.

I have followed this case since day one. They are innocent. It's pretty obvious. Keystone Cops plus metal head teens equals a show trial.

It seems that a lot of people believe that Terry Hobbs was involved. What evidence is there to link him to the crime?
This case has always hit home for me as a guy that has spent a lot of time in the Marion area.

This the case where the teenagers had the fact that one of them had like 8 black tshirts entered as evidence of them being satanic during their trial?

Fairly positive his DNA is on some of the rope found at the scene to tie the boys up.

The crackhead bathroom guy or the step dad are the guilty people imo.

That and an "Expert" on occultism or satanism who just repeated now-debunked Satanic Panic nonsense.

I'm in the camp that the real killer(s) is still out there,
Was it that guy that was seen washing off blood knives in the bathroom of a fast food spot or gas station?
Thats who id put my money on..

Well known abuser acording to the families and one of his hairs was found in one of the kid’s bindings, which came back during the dna testing that ultimately exonerate the three. He also had absolutely no alibi. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing, but there’s no doubt in my mind he did it
Also, the 3 even though they are exonerated, moved for a bunch more DNA collected at the scene to be tested, and their request was granted back in late 2025. I’m not sure what the status of it is, I think the testing is pending.

I was living in Memphis at the time so I learned as much as anybody about the case. I still have no idea who did it, but that creepy dad was high on my list but not beyond reasonable doubt. I dont think the Memphis 3 did it, but I could be wrong.

He also just comes across as very "off." That isn't really evidence, but he comes across as a bit nuts.

I also attended the opening night of "Paradise Lost" when it screened at The Malco theater in town.
That's pretty cool. Still to this day some of the best documentaries ever made.
